Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the ways in which reliance on cars affects life and whether these effects are positive or negative. The position is clear from the introduction. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you provide examples like medical emergencies and school drop-offs, the discussion remains at a fairly superficial level. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the implications of these points—for example, explaining how the convenience of private transport impacts urban planning or social connectivity. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and lacks a strong summary of the main arguments presented.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion' to signal the progression of your argument. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing and mechanical transitions. For instance, the transition 'Unlike, for the transportation' is unclear and disrupts the reader's understanding. Additionally, referencing is occasionally imprecise, making some sentences feel disjointed. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally from the previous one would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your main points. You use some topic-specific terms like 'medical emergencies', 'transportation', and 'ecosystem'. However, the range is limited, and there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'impact positive on humans life' (should be 'has a positive impact on human life') and 'take house on the country side' (should be 'live in the countryside'). To improve, focus on learning common collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary rather than relying on simple, repetitive phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('reliance... make', 'it operate'), article usage, and sentence fragments. For example, 'While it effect the environment at some point but it also impact positive' contains multiple errors in verb form and conjunction usage. These errors are noticeable and occasionally require the reader to re-read to grasp the intended meaning. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically verb tenses and the correct use of subordinating conjunctions.
