Student answer (Band 6.0)
In many parts of the world, people rely on private cars instead of public transportation. This reliance have been significantly affect the ways we live. I believe these effects is a negative trend for individuals and society in a long run.
To commence with, people used their private cars for daily commuting to save time and effort. This is because public transportation often runs late and brings obstacles in person's commuting. So, private vehicles are more convenient for daily use. Moreover, private cars offers several advantages such as, privacy, relaxation, safety and peaceful environment. For example, individuals who have their own cars could be able to plan their journey accordingly without any delay problems in different weather conditions.
I believe it is a negative trend because it makes people life easier at the cost of natural resources. Private cars used more fuel which leads to environmental damage in long term. More private cars on road increase traffic congestion which cause problems to individuals themselves. In addition, using more cars for commuting might creates the issue of belongness. People could not get a chance to meet others and make friends which they allows to do in public transportation. For instance, youngsters who often used bus transportation for commuting might get an opportunity to spend some time with their mates to strengthen their bond.
In conclusion, although privates cars offer several benefits towards individuals in terms of comfort-ness and safety. However, it creates more problems related to atmosphere such as, air pollution, noise pollution and less natural resources in the long run.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, identifying both the ways reliance on cars affects life and providing a clear position that the trend is negative. The ideas are relevant, such as convenience versus environmental damage and social isolation. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the point about 'belongness' is an interesting observation but lacks sufficient elaboration to fully explore the social impact. To reach a higher band, you should aim to extend your arguments with more specific evidence or deeper analysis, ensuring that the connection between the cause (car reliance) and the effect (social or environmental) is more robustly explained.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas from the benefits of cars to the negative consequences. You use some cohesive devices like 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' to link your points. However, some transitions feel mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'which they allows to do in public transportation'. Additionally, the use of 'However' at the start of the final sentence is grammatically redundant given the preceding 'although'. Improving the variety and natural flow of your linking words will help elevate your score in this criterion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'daily commuting', 'traffic congestion', and 'natural resources'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choices or non-standard collocations, such as 'comfort-ness', 'issue of belongness', and 'brings obstacles in person's commuting'. These errors occasionally distract the reader. To improve, focus on learning word families and common collocations rather than creating new words with suffixes like '-ness'. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise academic terms will help you move toward a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that impede the flow. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('This reliance have been', 'private cars offers', 'might creates'), incorrect verb forms ('people used their private cars' instead of 'use'), and missing articles. These errors are noticeable throughout the text. To improve, you should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and tense consistency. Strengthening your control over these fundamental structures is essential before attempting more complex sentence patterns.
