Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this era, most of the people prefer to drive their private cars instead of using public transportation and for this concern I am giving it's both sides positive and negative.
Firstly, in this generation everyone is rely on private cars and bikes and the first reasons for that is time most people want to reach their destination on time. For example, at job and also function so they prefer to use their private car. Secondly, the price of car and bike are become very affordable so anyone can get it and use it and if they are living with their family they always prefer to have one personal car in their life if they want to go outside with their family they can easily go wherever they want to go. Moreover, if they got an emergency in their house so don't need to wait for any public transportation they can quickly use their car and reach to their destination. Finally, from my personal view I would prefer to use private car instead of using public transportation. For example, by using my private car I can visit with friends and also its also help me to reach at my work on time.
On the other hand, many have their own cars so their is strongly risen of air poullation and its damage our natural oxygen and also a lot of trees. In addition, using a private car there is a significant rise of car accident in this world and also many people cause their lives.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that in this world everyone needs to buy their private car because its very useful in daily life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the ways reliance on private cars affects life and whether these effects are positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, while you mention time-saving and convenience, these points are not fully explored with depth. The conclusion is a bit contradictory, as it ignores the negative environmental and safety impacts mentioned in the second body paragraph. To improve, ensure your position is consistent throughout and provide more detailed explanations for your arguments rather than listing them briefly. The response is balanced but lacks the depth required for a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand' to signal transitions. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the logical progression within paragraphs is occasionally disrupted by grammatical errors. For example, the transition from the benefits of cars to the negative impacts is abrupt. To improve, try to use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea that connects smoothly to the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. You rely on simple, repetitive phrasing such as 'reach their destination' and 'use their car'. There are also spelling errors like 'poullation' and 'its' used incorrectly for 'it is'. While you attempt to discuss complex topics like environmental impact and safety, the lack of precise terminology limits the effectiveness of your arguments. To reach a higher band, focus on using more sophisticated collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition and improve the academic tone of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'everyone is rely', 'price of car and bike are become'), incorrect article usage, and punctuation errors. The sentence construction is often repetitive, relying on simple structures. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and sentence boundaries. Incorporating more complex sentence forms, such as conditional sentences or relative clauses, would also help demonstrate a wider range, provided they are used accurately.
