Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, as it is only 175 words long and ends abruptly mid-sentence. Because the essay is incomplete, the development of ideas is severely limited. While you attempt to address the prompt by discussing the convenience of private cars, the argument is underdeveloped and lacks a conclusion. To improve, you must ensure you write at least 250 words, provide a clear introduction, fully developed body paragraphs with specific examples, and a concluding summary. Currently, the task is only partially addressed due to the significant lack of length and depth.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay shows some attempt at paragraphing, but the abrupt ending disrupts the logical flow. Cohesive devices are used in a very basic and sometimes mechanical way, such as 'The first and foremost reason' and 'Moreover'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the lack of a complete structure makes it difficult to follow the progression of your argument. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence followed by supporting details that lead to a logical conclusion.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You use some relevant terms like 'commuting' and 'hectic schedule', but there are issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'an pivotal role' (should be 'a pivotal role') and 'reach on proper time' (should be 'arrive on time'). There is also a lack of less common lexical items. To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition and demonstrate a more sophisticated command of the language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Examples include 'its a positive development' (missing apostrophe in 'it's'), 'nowdays' (spelling error), 'everyone had a hectic schedule' (tense inconsistency), and 'it has been seemed' (incorrect passive construction). You rely mostly on simple sentence structures, and there is a lack of complex grammatical forms. To improve, focus on mastering basic punctuation, subject-verb agreement, and verb tenses. Once these are consistent, work on integrating complex sentence structures like conditional clauses or relative clauses to demonstrate a wider range.
