Student answer (Band 5.5)
In a lots of corner around the globe, individuals depends on using personal vehicle for them. Due to huge dependency on private vehicles makes us lazy and it alos harm our environment which is a negative development whereas it also provide us access to go anywhere, anytime which is a better postive development.
First and the formost reason is, dependent on vehicles. Although today we have alot of facilities of public transports, which has easy access for us going to places and its more convient but depending on private vehicles makes us lazy we wake up at time, drive fast to reach offices. Also, its not possible for all family members to afford their own vehicle. However, owning our own vehicle create better facilites and access for us. we have time freedom, we can go anywhere by road, anytime that creates a powerful reason for to be free, if we use public transports that has fix schedule which sometimes doesn't match our requirement.
Another reason is, privacy. In our won vehicle we can hangout with our friends, family. If we have to attend any wedding and party we can go with our whole family privately, but public transport provides us no transparency thats also a major cause of owning a vehicle. Also, during emergencies its best, during my friend got ill, in some remote areas ambulace facilities are not available at that time it shows it worth.
In conclusion, its more a positive development because it provide us bettter facilites and privacy to go anywhere due to big road network whereas using it alot makes us lazy and not everyone tend to buy it

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the ways in which reliance on cars affects life and whether these effects are positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the point about 'laziness' is mentioned but not fully explored, and the argument regarding 'privacy' is a bit repetitive. While a position is clear, the supporting examples, such as the mention of a friend getting ill, are slightly underdeveloped. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed explanations and link your examples more explicitly to the broader societal impacts of car dependency.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'First and the formost reason is, dependent on vehicles' is grammatically awkward and lacks a clear connection to the previous paragraph. Transitions like 'However' and 'Also' are used frequently but sometimes inappropriately, which disrupts the flow of ideas. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult to track the logical progression of your arguments. Improving the variety and precision of linking words would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'big', 'good', and 'better', and there are several instances of incorrect word choice or collocation, such as 'no transparency' when you likely meant 'no privacy' or 'lack of personal space'. Additionally, there are spelling errors like 'formost', 'alos', and 'ambulace'. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to transportation and urban living, and ensure you are using words in their correct context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('individuals depends'), article usage ('in a lots of corner'), and sentence fragments or run-on sentences. For example, 'Due to huge dependency on private vehicles makes us lazy' is grammatically incorrect. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and punctuation prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and ensuring each sentence has a clear subject and verb.
