Student answer (Band 6.0)
People over the globe possess their own vehicle these days to commute. It has become very common to use private mode of transportation rather than using public because of the convenience it offers - it saves time and avoids shorter distances are covered by walking.
Due to flexibility the private vehicles offers, a fraction of a society have started being dependant on it. They have stopped covering distances by walking that is important for maintaining healthy bones and muscles. It has become common for people in their thirties to have health issues. For instance, a survey shows that mid-aged men and women undergoing knee replacement surgeries have increased by 32% within last five years. This is a result of low calcium in the body and overall decreased body strength.
Additionally, increasing reliance on private mode of trasport has led to increasing rate of fuel. The fuel that we use currently was made from fossils from millions years ago that are being processed into gas and petroleum but these fuels are limited in quantity. Growing demand of private vehicles like cars and bikes make pressure to use these fossil fuels that result rising rates on them so individuals limit their usage in daily life and use public transport which is pocket friendly.
The popularity of using cars must decline as it is impacting our environment negatively. Not only the smoke and carbon emmision pollutes the air but also the process of making a vehicle in the factories is dangerous for our ecology. A study claim that the land around the factories in which the body of the vehicles are made, is unfit for living organisms. The toxins of metallic sheets are disposed nearby and affects land and water bodies nearby.
Therefore, this is high time we limit the usage of private mode of transportation and switch to public mode to commute. This will make our surroundings healthy.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed all parts of the prompt by discussing the effects of private car reliance and clearly stating that these effects are negative. Your ideas are relevant, particularly regarding health and environmental impacts. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat uneven. For example, the argument regarding fuel prices is a bit tangential to the core issue of lifestyle changes, and the link between factory production and car usage could be more tightly connected to the 'reliance' aspect. To reach a higher band, ensure that every paragraph directly supports your central argument about how reliance on cars changes our daily lives and why this is detrimental.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Additionally' and 'Therefore' to link your ideas. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear. For instance, in the second paragraph, the transition between the flexibility of cars and the health consequences could be smoother. Furthermore, some sentences are slightly disjointed, such as the opening sentence which lacks a clear connection to the subsequent point about convenience. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring a more natural flow between sentences would enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'convenience', 'flexibility', 'ecology', and 'toxic'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choices and minor errors, such as 'over the globe' (should be 'across the globe'), 'dependant on it' (should be 'dependent'), and 'pocket friendly' (which is a bit informal for an essay). Additionally, there are some spelling errors like 'trasport' and 'emmision'. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure that your vocabulary is consistently formal and accurate throughout the response.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. For example, 'avoids shorter distances are covered by walking' is grammatically incorrect, and 'a study claim' should be 'a study claims'. There are also issues with article usage and subject-verb agreement throughout the text. While your meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed accurately will help you improve your score.
