Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, cars has become one of easier way to provide best support for giving people to the end of their destination. Private cars are very flexible and quicker rather than using public transportation which not waste any minutes as well as for reach far distance like mission on province. Private cars are the best choice.

Time is such a vaule that can not take it back, the duration of driving private is much faster rather than using public transport which they have to stand by on timing schedule as well as need to walk and wait at bus or train station.

Using public transport for mission on countryside would be much more difficult and would be hard for them instead using private cars is much quicker. They could just drive to their destination.

In conclusion. It would be good choice for people rely on private cars for transportation instead of public cars.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the prompt asks for the ways reliance on cars affects our lives and whether these effects are positive or negative, the response is underdeveloped. It touches upon convenience and time-saving but lacks depth, specific examples, or a balanced discussion of the negative impacts (such as environmental concerns or traffic congestion). The position is clear, but the lack of length prevents a full exploration of the topic, leading to a very limited response that does not adequately address all parts of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into short paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The ideas are repetitive, particularly the focus on 'time' and 'convenience' across multiple paragraphs. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as the awkward transition 'as well as for reach far distance like mission on province'. The lack of a clear introduction and the fragmented nature of the sentences make the overall flow disjointed. To improve, you should use linking words like 'furthermore', 'consequently', or 'in contrast' to connect your ideas more effectively and create a smoother reading experience.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'best support', 'mission on province', and 'vaule' (spelling error for value) indicate a limited range. There is a lack of precision in word choice, such as using 'public cars' instead of 'public transport'. To reach a higher band, you need to use a wider range of vocabulary related to transportation and urban living, such as 'infrastructure', 'efficiency', 'environmental impact', or 'urban mobility'. You should also focus on correct collocations and avoid repeating the same simple adjectives to describe the benefits of private vehicles.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('cars has become'), incorrect comparative structures ('one of easier way'), and awkward phrasing ('which not waste any minutes'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, with few attempts at complex sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, such as the fragment 'In conclusion. It would be good choice...'. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles and prepositions before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
