Student answer (Band 6.0)
In some part of many countries some individuals are depending on the use their personal cars for commute. This essay will discuss ways this will impact our lives. i strongly agree that going out with our personal cars would have a much positive benefits on our productivity.
The reliance on going out in personal car will increase our output thus faster transportation. This will relieve one from time and stress of waiting to get a commercial bus to get to his or her destination while trying to meet up with a schedule thereby improving productivity. for instance several excuses for lateness have been attributed to time of waiting to board a vehicle to the venue and this would have been averted if one goes on a private trip.
on the contrary, the increase in number of personal vehicles especially in the urban area have added to the danger of green house emissions as there are more number of cars releasing carbon dioxide into the air which is detrimental to human health. for example in so many counties reports have shown green house effect is associated with higher number of cars releasing gas into the environment which will have potential health implication.
In conclusion, reliance on the use of private cars will help improve our daily living as productivity depends on our ability to meet up on time with schedules. Hence, rise in number of cars will lead to an increase in green house emissions in our environment which is not healthy. private trip should be encouraged to boost our output while keeping up with schedules.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, identifying both the impact on daily life (productivity) and the nature of the effects (positive for the individual, negative for the environment). However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention productivity and greenhouse gases, the arguments could be extended with more specific detail or nuance. The position is clear, but the conclusion is slightly contradictory, as it suggests private transport should be encouraged despite acknowledging the negative environmental impact. To reach a higher band, ensure your arguments are fully explored and that your final stance is consistent with the points raised in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. There is a clear progression of ideas from the benefits of personal transport to the environmental drawbacks. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'for example' or 'for instance'. Additionally, some transitions between sentences feel abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would help the flow of the essay and improve the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'greenhouse emissions', 'carbon dioxide', and 'productivity'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'going out with our personal cars' or 'private trip'. To improve, try to incorporate more precise collocations and a wider variety of academic vocabulary. Avoid repeating basic words and focus on using more sophisticated synonyms to express your points more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the use their personal cars', 'in so many counties'), pluralisation, and preposition usage. Some sentences are also slightly ungrammatical, such as 'This will relieve one from time and stress'. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage to improve the accuracy of your writing.
