Student answer (Band 6.0)

People are heavily reliant on private vehicles such as motorbikes and cars to commute nearly all over the world. This essay firmly believes that it has positive traits because private transportation provides comfort and time effective and I believe that travelling in private car will be expensive for minimum wages earner.

One of main reason society is leaning more towards private cars is because transportation has become immensely comfortable. People have expressed their feelings about travelling public transportation such as during peak ours seats are not available. For example, in UK employees started travelling via own vehicle such as bikes, cycle or cars due to not able have any reservations for seat during rush hours that has impacted a lot of people mentally. Another reason would be time effective an individual who is going work via bus it nearly takes 2 hours to get to their work because buses will stop on every station , while commuting to our own vehicle can tremendously help to get to work within minutes. For Instance, in The United States of America Forbes has recently announced that car or bike spending in last 5 years has skyrocketed by 50%, which the highest grossing car sell observed in last decade.

I firmly believe that being dependent on own vehicle is positive change because it has given a sense of freedom while travelling to work or college . This is because people who are introverts don't have to talk or book any tickets in advance to be able struggle physically and mentally, meanwhile an individual who prefers to travel in own car listens. or conduct a small on their way to work. For example, In China, an employees who are travelling in their own vehicle has improved in their respective field, as compared to the employee who transporting via buses or taxi's.

In conclusion, in many countries commuter's are giving preference to private cars or motorbikes because of their comfort and time effectiveness to get over and I believe that is positive because people don't need feel pressure to book tickets advance for public transportation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the ways reliance on cars affects life and whether these effects are positive or negative. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the points regarding comfort and time efficiency are relevant, the supporting examples—such as the claim about Forbes in the US or the assertion about introverts in China—lack clarity and logical connection to the argument. The essay tends to over-generalize, and some arguments are repetitive. To reach a higher band, ensure that examples are more specific and directly support the main point rather than introducing anecdotal or potentially inaccurate claims.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a central theme. There is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate. For instance, the transition 'to get over' in the conclusion is confusing and does not serve a clear logical purpose. Additionally, some sentences are disjointed, such as '...listens. or conduct a small on their way to work.' The referencing is occasionally unclear, which forces the reader to work harder to follow the argument. Improved control over linking words and better sentence-level cohesion would enhance the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'skyrocketed' and 'immensely', which are used appropriately. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'time effective' instead of 'time-efficient', 'car sell' instead of 'car sales', and 'transporting via buses' instead of 'transporting by bus'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do highlight a lack of precision. Expanding the range of collocations and refining word forms would improve the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, they are frequently marred by grammatical errors, such as missing articles ('in UK', 'in The United States of America'), incorrect verb forms ('employees who are travelling... has improved'), and punctuation issues (e.g., the stray period in 'listens. or'). Subject-verb agreement is inconsistent throughout the text. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the frequency of these errors is noticeable and prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy and proofreading for punctuation would be beneficial.
