Student answer (Band 6.0)
Everyone in this modern era is depending on their personal vehicles for travelling which ease the lives of human being. Depending on the modern private cars has both pros and cons but in my opinion it has more negative point than the positive one which I will explain in upcoming paragraphs.
To start with advantages of travelling on private cars it saves the time of people. They can reach at the destination without worrying about the time. As if you travel on public transportation it will come according to its schedule and go through its own route. To cite an example if person has to go urgently at some place if they depend on the public transport than it will take lot of their time which will not benefit them. Moreover, people can also safely reach at the place more of the crimes happened while travelling in public transport than the travelling from own transportation. Thus, it is more useful for public to use public transportation.
On the other hand, if more of the private cars will travel on the road than there will be more chances of accident, pollution. Due to urbanisation using the cars becomes the trend in this modern world. People donot want to rely on any other transportation. They think it will give them privacy but on the other hand they are reaching the atmosphere while polluting the environment.
In my opinion it is considered that using the car is bad for effect on people health as there are harmful gases coming from private cars which has negative impact on people health. According to the times of Canada article by using private transportation 80percent of traffic increased on the roads and the chances of accident occurred by 40percent if you are travelling on your own vehicle. So it can be considered as the negative factor for public.
In conclusion I can say we know relying more on private car is useful for many people but the negative factors cannot be ignored if the corrective measures are not implemented.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the ways in which reliance on cars affects life and whether these effects are positive or negative. You clearly state your position that the negative impacts outweigh the positive ones. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While you mention time-saving and safety as benefits, the arguments regarding the negative impacts—pollution and health—are slightly repetitive and could be supported with more nuanced explanation. The example provided regarding the 'times of Canada article' is a good attempt at supporting your argument, but ensure your points are fully explored to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To start with', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand' to link your ideas. However, some transitions are a bit mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Thus, it is more useful for public to use public transportation' (which contradicts your previous point about private cars). Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall progression of your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'urbanisation', 'transportation', and 'corrective measures'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors, such as 'reaching the atmosphere' (likely meaning 'damaging') and 'travelling from own transportation'. Some phrasing is repetitive, and the vocabulary is generally functional rather than sophisticated. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and varied synonyms to express your ideas more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the public', 'the atmosphere'), pluralization, and verb forms (e.g., 'more of the crimes happened', 'using the cars becomes the trend'). Some sentences are slightly disjointed due to these errors. To reach a higher band, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles, as these errors occur frequently throughout the text.
