Student answer (Band 5.5)

There is no repudiating the fact that with the advancement of technology it has revolutionized the life style of mankind. Therefore, People believe that a majority of multitudes depend upon a private vehicles in order to commute one place to another place. Although this phenomenon has some negative sides, the merits get an edge over the demerits.

On the one hand, there are multifarious benefits which are the root causes of this notion. The most conspicuous one is linked with the time saving of people. In order words, due to the hectic and busy schedule people do not have enough to take public transport instead of private that is why they give more priority to use their own transport to reach their destination in minimum time. To illustrate it, when people make a plan to go outside with their family members and they use their private cars for transportation it saves they time because they do not need to wait for the vehicle and can easily stay anywhere without any problem. Thus it is undeniable fact that above mentioned factors are the main sources as why individuals rely on private cars.

On the other side of the spectrums, there are the some negative sides of this notion. Firstly, private cars create more pollution it puts some inimical impact on people health. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the effects of car reliance and whether these are positive or negative. However, the development is limited. While you mention time-saving as a benefit and pollution as a drawback, these points are not fully extended with specific, convincing examples. The conclusion is repetitive and does not effectively summarize your position. To improve, ensure each body paragraph provides a clear, well-supported argument rather than just stating the point. The position is clear, but the lack of depth in the analysis prevents a higher score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'On the one hand' and 'Moreover', but these are sometimes used mechanically or incorrectly (e.g., 'In order words' instead of 'In other words'). The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the transitions between sentences are occasionally abrupt. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'above mentioned factors', which is used repeatedly. Improving the variety and accuracy of your linking words will help the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You attempt to use a wide range of vocabulary, including words like 'repudiating', 'multifarious', 'conspicuous', and 'inimical'. However, many of these are used incorrectly or in unnatural collocations, such as 'majority of multitudes' or 'ingeminated'. These errors suggest an attempt to use 'big' words without fully grasping their precise meaning or context. A more natural, precise use of vocabulary would be more effective than using complex words that do not fit the context. Focus on using words that you are confident in using correctly to improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'depend upon a private vehicles' (article/plurality error), 'it saves they time' (pronoun error), and 'multitudes are mostly rely on' (verb form error). These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader, though they do not completely impede communication. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and consistent verb tense control. Proofreading for basic errors would significantly improve the quality of your writing.
