Student answer (Band 6.0)
Today we live in an age where comfort and ease has become a priority for majority of the population. Owing a vehicle is considered as one of a way to live life more comfortably. With revolution in Science a technology, there came a time when people used to think it was crucial to own personal car. In this way, they were able to maintain their social status. Till now, we are seeing same kind of trend. People's success is measured from the model of the vehicle they have. Everything thing can have positive and negative aspects.
Having the facility of private vehicle, enables the individuals to plan their day freely, without confining their life routine to local train and bus schedule. Especially when there is some transport strike, they don't have to worry. It gives them the freedom to move independently, having some family time whenever they want.
Contrarily, owning private cars means more fuel consumption and eventually more smoke emission. Gases that emit from vehicles, their devastation effects on environment cannot be avoided. There are some recent studies, according to which, harmful gases emission from transports vehicles is damaging our environmental more than we think. Global Warming, air pollution, noise pollution, traffic congestion on roads are one of of few consequences of using private cars instead of public transportation.
Our reliance on having private vehicles is increasing day by day. If some sort of rules are not implemented soon, then damage on our environment will be one sided/unrepairable.
For instance, 50 people work in a startup and 40 of them own a vehicle. Instead of those 40 cars on road early in the morning, if these 40 people travel using public transport, will not only help save the planet but make other people life easier as in lieu of 40 cars, there will be 1 bus on the road.
To conclude, It is a right time for the authorities to take some action and implement laws to tackle the issue.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the ways in which private car reliance affects life and whether these effects are positive or negative. The ideas are relevant, such as the freedom of movement versus environmental degradation. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The introduction is a bit repetitive, and the argument regarding social status is not fully connected to the main body paragraphs. While the position is clear, the supporting examples, such as the startup scenario, could be more deeply explored to reach a higher band. Overall, the response covers the requirements but lacks the depth and precision expected at higher levels.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a progression of ideas from the benefits of car ownership to the environmental drawbacks. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Till now, we are seeing same kind of trend' or 'Everything thing can have positive and negative aspects.' Referencing is occasionally unclear, and some transitions between sentences feel abrupt. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the flow between ideas could be smoother to achieve a higher score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'devastation effects' (which is grammatically incorrect; should be 'devastating') and 'in lieu of.' However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'Owing a vehicle' (should be 'Owning') and 'Everything thing.' The range is sufficient to discuss the topic, but the lack of precision and occasional errors in collocation limit the score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, including missing articles ('to local train and bus schedule'), incorrect verb forms ('Gases that emit'), and punctuation issues. Some sentences are slightly disjointed, such as 'Everything thing can have positive and negative aspects.' These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader, though they do not prevent the message from being understood. More consistent control over basic grammar and sentence construction is needed.
