Student answer (Band 5.5)
In many parts of the world people rely on their private cars generally because of two reasons that is comfort and safety. In now a days travelling has become a very important part of daily life whether its for job, for vacations, for business the more comfortable u travel the less the hectic day it becomes.
But there are downsides of travelling in private cars as well as we know that in now a days petrol has become the most essential part of the worlds economy good thing is that the world is moving towards EV'S due the global warming and climate change many people are getting aware about the term as green energy but it will take time for the world to be 100% running on green energy or maybe never thats my personal opinion.
Governments are working on many transportation projects for its people for example green energy trains bullet trains E-buses so that the import of crude oil could be limited and the economy gets stronger in other words if people get to use public transport for travel to point A from point B instead of relying on private cars they will help themselves by saving their travel expenses and also they will contribute to the growth of their economy,
For example if i take a private car to work i will have to refuel it i will have to manage the parking may be end up paying for parking may be end up getting a ticket by traffic violation and on the other hand i used the public transport no fuel no tickets no extra charges and also i played my role for the better envoirment and the economy

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the reliance on private cars and the associated positive and negative effects. However, the development is somewhat uneven. While you mention comfort and safety as reasons for reliance, the discussion on environmental impacts and government projects is a bit disjointed. The position is generally clear, but the argument could be more structured by explicitly categorizing the effects as positive or negative. Some ideas, such as the personal opinion on green energy, are slightly tangential and detract from the focus on the impact of car reliance on daily life. To improve, ensure each paragraph directly supports your central argument with clear, logical progression.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow between them is weak. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link ideas smoothly; for instance, the transition between the benefits of private cars and the discussion on EVs is abrupt. You rely heavily on comma splices and run-on sentences, which makes the progression of ideas feel mechanical rather than fluid. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the use of informal markers like 'for example if i take' lacks the formal structure expected in an IELTS essay. Improving the use of linking words such as 'consequently,' 'furthermore,' or 'in contrast' would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You use some relevant terms like 'global warming,' 'crude oil,' and 'transportation projects,' but there is also a reliance on informal or repetitive phrasing, such as 'in now a days' and 'point A from point B.' There are also minor errors in word formation, such as 'envoirment' (environment). To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations and avoid repetitive structures. Expanding your range of academic vocabulary will help you express your ideas with more nuance and authority.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement, missing articles, and significant punctuation errors, such as the use of run-on sentences and comma splices throughout the text. For example, 'in now a days travelling has become...' lacks necessary punctuation and articles. Additionally, the use of 'u' instead of 'you' is inappropriate for a formal writing task. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction prevents the text from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence boundaries and proofreading for basic grammar would be highly beneficial.
