Student answer (Band 5.0)
In many part of places people just rely on private cars because there is no public transportation. They have to use private cars. They can't just focus on any one to give ride. Everyone is busy in their life. For example: in surrey (near 62ave) there is no late night services. Bus stops are to far away from their houses. In that areas, they can just depend on cars.
However, it also has some postive aspects and negative aspects. If i talk about positive think, they can anywhere, whereever they want to go according to their they convenience. They dont have to wait for buses or anyone to give ride. But, there is also disadvantages. If everyone have private cars, there is high chances of pollution. That area will be more polluted. People will have more health issues. Not only people will face pollution but also people have to pay high car bills like insurance, maintance, gas and so on. That area can face more traffic. Roads will be nlocked and people can face crowed. If the roads are busy, they can be delayed for their work and study. Also, there is chances of accidents. Children can not play there because of number of cars. So, i think, this is generally depent on people mind and prefrences what they want. Every coin has two sides. if one think has adavantages there is also disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The student attempts to address all parts of the prompt, discussing how reliance on private cars affects daily life and weighing both positive and negative aspects. The positive aspect is briefly touched upon (convenience and flexibility), while the negative aspects are more extensively explored, covering pollution, health issues, financial costs, traffic congestion, and safety concerns. Examples such as 'surrey (near 62ave)' are provided to support the ideas. However, the response falls short of the 250-word minimum, containing only 234 words. Consequently, the ideas remain somewhat limited and under-developed, preventing the response from achieving a higher band score. The position is clear, but the lack of sufficient length directly impacts the depth of task fulfilment, resulting in a Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The text shows some overall organisation with a basic introduction, body paragraphs discussing positive and negative effects, and a brief conclusion. However, paragraphing is poorly handled, with the second paragraph being excessively long and containing multiple distinct sub-topics that should be separated. Cohesive devices are basic and repetitive, such as 'If i talk about positive think', 'But', and 'Also'. Logical progression is frequently disrupted by abrupt shifts between ideas, such as moving from pollution to car expenses and then immediately back to traffic and safety. Referencing is also occasionally unclear or mechanical. These cohesive flaws and poor paragraph structure place the response firmly at a Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task, with words like 'transportation', 'convenience', 'pollution', and 'maintenance'. However, there are numerous word choice errors, non-standard collocations, and spelling mistakes throughout the text, such as 'postive' instead of positive, 'think' instead of thing, 'nlocked' instead of unlocked, and 'crowed' instead of crowds. Phrases like 'give ride' instead of 'give a lift' or 'ride' further highlight lexical limitations. The vocabulary is repetitive, and these noticeable errors cause some difficulty for the reader, aligning the response with Band 5.0 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writing displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, consisting mostly of simple sentences and repetitive complex structures connected by basic conjunctions. There are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Everyone is busy in their life', 'If everyone have private cars'), missing articles ('there is high chances of pollution'), and incorrect pronoun usage ('this is generally depent on people mind'). Punctuation is also weak, with inconsistent capitalisation ('surrey', 'i') and missing apostrophes ('dont'). These frequent errors can cause difficulty for the reader and reflect a Band 5.0 level of grammatical control.
