IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In many parts of the world, people rely on private cars for transportation.

In what ways does reliance on private cars affect the way we live?

Do the effects tend to be positive or negative?

Give reasons for your answer, and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

Transportation methods has been changing day by day as we see it from history to the present time. There are various modes of transportation such as public transportation and private vehicle. In most country people are opting private cars more for travelling.

Starting with why people prefer private cars for transportation? Answer is these days people have no time to wait for public buses and trains to commute locally they are having busy schedule often prefer their own vehicle to travel as it is time saving and convenient mode of transportation. Moreover, travelling through private vehicle is more safe and does not compromise with the privacy of the individual. In addition, owning vehicle also offers a great indepedence to stop anywhere one's need to be.

On positive side, private offers not only offers safety , privacy, indepence but also helping inviduals to perform multitask. For example, parent can also drop their children to school while going to the workplace it not only provide safety for their kids also make family bond strong.

On the contrary side, more private vehicles are creating huge traffing on roads people wasting their valueable time standing in long traffic lines. Moreover, it also cause environmental damage with burning of fuels in the cars.Along with owning a vehicle is putting a extra burden on one's pocket people have do double shifts at work to cope up with expenses.

In the end, this tend has negative effect because of various factors like pollution, huge traffic on roads and extra burden on one's income. Goverment should enhance public transportation bus allocation sufficient budgets to encourage to use public transportation.
