Student answer (Band 5.5)
In todays's world, cars are essential part of everyone's life.Although travelling make life convenient, but I believe that depandance on cars has some negative effects.
Firstly, when people use private transportation it makes lige more easier in travelling. This is because, individulas can travel by cars without any waiting for bus schedules. Also, if they are doing grociers and take heavy heavy material with them then it is easy to keep in thier vehicles. For example, From buses I took 45 minutes to reach my work but if i prefer to drive it just took 20 minutes to reach at my destination. Therefore, it makes life easier to travel from one place to another.
However, waste of money is the negative impact on person life. Beacause, if people travelling from private cars they have to spend money on fuel, insaurance, and maintenance. At the end of the month sometines they do have enough money to spend for household facilities.
In conclusion, private cars provide flexibility and easier access to travel. Despite this, I think heavy usage of cars have some drawback because of wastage of money.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the task only partially, and it must be noted first that the length requirement is not met, as the submission contains only 186 words instead of the minimum 250 words. The writer attempts to cover both how cars affect our lives and whether these effects are positive or negative, but the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For example, the point about wasting money is introduced briefly without sufficient elaboration or concrete examples. Furthermore, the position is not always clearly sustained throughout the essay, resulting in a somewhat superficial exploration of the prompt's main themes.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The text demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the essay into an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate different main ideas, such as convenience versus financial costs. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty, as seen in repetitive transitional phrases and referencing that is not always entirely clear. While the writer makes use of cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'However', and 'In conclusion', the links between sentences can feel disjointed, preventing a smoother overall progression of thought.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, but this is accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word form, such as 'depandance', 'grociers', and 'sometines', which occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader. Expressions like 'take heavy heavy material' and 'waste of money is the negative impact on person life' lack precision and natural collocation. To reach a higher level, the student needs to expand their range of vocabulary and minimize errors in spelling and lexical phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
There is a limited range of structures employed throughout the essay, relying heavily on basic sentence forms alongside attempts at complex sentences that are frequently faulty. Frequent errors in grammar and punctuation can cause difficulty for the reader, including issues with subject-verb agreement and preposition usage, such as 'todays's world, cars are essential part' and 'travelling from private cars'. Furthermore, awkward phrasing like 'From buses I took 45 minutes' demonstrates a lack of control over grammatical patterns, placing the structural accuracy firmly within the lower band criteria.
