Student answer (Band 5.5)

There is no doubt that most of the people in the world totally depend on their cars. As the world is growing, everyone is getting advance in everything. As per my perspective, this scenario has both positive and negative effects which highly influence the human life.

As people are earning and everthing is changing with tenchology. Now, people have more options and opportunities in their life. Having a private car is must for today's people. However, individuals are totally relying on this without thinking about the consequences. For instance, human are getting numerous diseases when they skip doing walking even to the nearest store and talking to their neighbours because of their own car. As a result, they loose connections and get health problem like obesity.

I contend that this has both postive and negative effects. First people feel independent. As they do not have to get early for their work as having their own car consumes a lot of time and energy. Secondly, private transportation helps people to get prevent from weather conditions. Thirdly, people totally enjoy their freedom while having in their comfort zone which is impossible to have in public transportation.

On the other side, it create problems as well. As nowadays it has spread on the news 5% people die because of road accidents. Additionally, the roads are getting blocked when there are more then enough cars are on the road. Howerver, people are becoming comfortable in their own zone.An example comes to my mind is that there is a trend that whenver a younger people turns to their legal age, they get excited about having their own car. Somehow whixh is effecting them in their emotional health.

In conclusion, it is totally acceptable to grow with tenchnology and enjoy the freedom of life. However, it has some positive and negative effects on human life which can be realised after decades .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the ways private cars affect our lives and whether these effects are positive or negative. However, the development of ideas remains limited and under-developed, which keeps the response at this level. For instance, the writer mentions that cars cause health problems because people skip walking to the nearest store, but this idea is not extended with further explanation or strong examples. Similarly, the points raised about independence and weather conditions in the third paragraph are introduced briefly without sufficient elaboration. While a clear position is stated that the scenario has both positive and negative effects, the arguments lack the depth and thorough support required to move to a higher level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is a clear overall organisation with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing both sides of the issue, and a conclusion. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by mechanical or repetitive cohesive devices. Phrases like "First", "Secondly", "Thirdly", and "On the other side" are used in a somewhat simplistic and formulaic manner to structure the writing. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the sentence starting with "Somehow whixh is effecting them in their emotional health", which fails to connect smoothly to the preceding context. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within the paragraphs needs more sophisticated linking to achieve a clearer logical flow throughout the essay.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate for the task, with noticeable errors that occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader. There are frequent issues with word choice, word form, and spelling, such as "advance" instead of advanced, "tenchology" and "tenchnology" for technology, "loose" instead of lose, and "whixh". The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as "consequences" and "independence", but errors in collocation and lexical forms are persistent. For example, phrases like "get prevent from weather conditions" and "younger people turns to their legal age" demonstrate a restricted lexical range that prevents the writing from achieving a more natural and precise flow.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writing shows a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on basic patterns with frequent errors. While there are some attempts at complex sentences, these are often faulty, such as in the clause "when there are more then enough cars are on the road". Frequent errors in grammar and punctuation are present throughout the text, including tense inconsistencies, missing prepositions, and article errors, such as "human are getting numerous diseases" and "it create problems". Punctuation is also problematic in places, with misplaced commas and spacing issues. These grammatical inaccuracies occur frequently and can occasionally cause difficulty for the reader in following the intended meaning.
