Student answer (Band 5.5)

"Owning a Car is Luxury." Private vehicles have always been a boon to the living been. Almost every house hold owns a vehicle now-a-days, there are a lot locations all around the world that demand to be visited by a vehicle, where tains, busses, air ways or water ways are not reachable. People often live in small towns and have their jobs or childrens school in the city for which travelling is required and can be only done id they own a private vehicle. There may be some areas where no access to basic needs such as grocery shopping, hospitals, etc are not available andn individuals need to have own transportation for the same. On the other hand people living in the cities prefer to own a vehicle to travel from one job to another or to generate side income. with it as well. Some areas do have public transportaion but may not run on great frequency which makes people have on transportation as they don't have any other option to reply on.

There has been greater shift of increase on poeple wanting to own a transport which has surely affected the way we live on various factors such as pollution caused by vehicles that going forward is leading to global warming, it is also impacting on peoples health as there is less exercise involved. Natural resources are also been consumed on a larger scale because of excessive use of cars running on the roads.

However, in my opinion, there are positive as well as negaive impact on the situation. In the first scenario where there is limited accessibility and high demand people should have advantage of using a vehicle whereas, in situations where it can be maximized using public or sharing transport that should be opted to make a change.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the effects of private car reliance and whether they are positive or negative, but the ideas are presented in a limited and under-developed manner. For instance, points regarding remote areas, jobs, and pollution are introduced in a block of text without sufficient extension or clear organisation of the writer's position. The stance becomes somewhat unclear as the conclusion attempts to balance the arguments rather than maintaining a fully developed perspective throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some organisation present, particularly in the division of the response into distinct paragraphs, but there is no clear overall progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are sometimes inadequate or repetitive, leading to a mechanical flow between sentences. For example, sentences in the first body paragraph run together with weak linking, and referencing is occasionally unclear, which disrupts the logical transition from discussing remote regions to urban contexts.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited but minimally adequate for discussing transport. There are noticeable errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'tains' instead of trains, 'busses' instead of buses, 'house hold', 'id they own', and 'poeple', which occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader. The writer attempts some less common phrasing like 'generate side income', but these attempts are constrained by frequent lexical inaccuracies.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are often faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar, articles, plurals, and prepositions, such as 'have no access to basic needs... are not available', 'transportaion', and missing articles before singular nouns. These frequent errors persist throughout the text and can cause some difficulty for the reader, although basic meaning generally remains accessible.
