Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, there are many forms of transportation. Socity's people are divided into two groups and there, having private cars has become a topic of debate among people. This essay will compare and contrast both of the opinions along with my opinion which is in the favour of negative side will be discussed in a sensible conclusion.
To commence with, firstly, the private vehicles provide more accessbility and convience for the individuals. People can commute everywhere without stress of unavailbity of public transportation. It reduces the dependency over public buses and trains. Secondaly, personal mode of transportation also saves time which is very crucial in this modern world. A recent study shows that individuals, who use public transportation, have to leave early from home to get their buses or train for daily routine chores whereas personal vehicles allows people flexibility and provide abundance time to reach their destination without any hindrance.
On the other side, this also causes several concerns to economy and environment. It has been observed in many cities that an increasing number of personally owned cars leads to traffic problem which is highly concerning issue that contribute to other environmental problems. In 2025, WHO declared that traffic problem has become global issue impacting fuel prices, air pollution. Governements impose different tariff on import vehicles which also effect the economy of the country where middle class society has to pay abundance of taxes to have such imported vehicles.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that although, privately owned vehicles offer comfort, time saving and convenience but it's impact on our environment can be neglected at any cost. People must use other approaches as car pooling, e-cars, to mitigate this big concerns.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: the essay explains how private cars affect daily life through convenience and time-saving, then considers traffic, pollution and economic costs. Your position is ultimately negative, stated in the introduction and conclusion, so the response remains relevant. However, the opening promises to “compare and contrast both of the opinions,” which does not accurately frame the task, and the conclusion’s claim that environmental impact “can be neglected” conflicts with your negative position. Some ideas are less fully developed than others: the convenience point is explained, but the effects on the economy and environment would benefit from clearer cause-and-effect reasoning and a specific, relevant example. Make your overall judgement consistent and support each main effect more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph presenting benefits, a paragraph outlining drawbacks, and a conclusion. This gives the reader a recognisable progression, and signposts such as “On the other side” help distinguish the two sides. To strengthen cohesion further, reduce mechanical sequencing such as “To commence with, firstly” and “Secondaly,” and use transitions that show the relationship between ideas rather than simply numbering them. Some links are unclear: the sentence about tariffs on imported vehicles appears after discussion of traffic and pollution without explaining how it connects to reliance on cars. The conclusion also contradicts the stated negative position, disrupting the essay’s overall line of argument. Clarify these connections and maintain one consistent viewpoint.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “private vehicles,” “public transportation,” “traffic,” “air pollution,” and “car pooling.” These choices make the subject clear, and you attempt more formal expressions such as “mitigate” and “dependency.” However, inaccurate spelling and word choice are noticeable and sometimes make the phrasing awkward, for example “Socity's people,” “accessbility,” “unavailbity,” and “abundance time.” Some collocations are also unnatural, including “traffic problem” and “impose different tariff on import vehicles.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations and check spelling carefully. Using precise terms such as “traffic congestion” and “vehicle import duties” would make the discussion clearer and more appropriate to an academic essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including a relative clause in “individuals, who use public transportation,” and a contrast structure in the conclusion. The main ideas are generally understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity and control. For example, “personal vehicles allows” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “an increasing number of personally owned cars leads” needs agreement with the plural meaning of “number of cars.” The sentence beginning “A recent study shows” is long and difficult to follow, and the final sentence uses an awkward “although” construction followed by “but.” Review agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries, and simplify or divide long sentences where needed. More consistently accurate complex sentences would improve the response.
