Student answer (Band 5.0)

In many countries of the world, people rely on private cars for travel to one place to another. There are many advantages and disadvantages like most of the peoples prefer car to travel than public transport because he like to travel alone than traveling with other peoples. The private cars affect on our personal life or health.First of all i can explain the advantages of a car after advantages i will discuss about the advantages of a car.

There are many adavantages of a personal car or a private ride.Mostly people like to travel alone because he irritate from crowd sounds so they prefer to travel alone and when you have a private ride you sit comfort in a car and your journey will be comfort or good or you can choose your car when you have an any emergancy work. When you travel in your personal car you can complete your journey in less time than a public transport.

There are many disadvantages along with is advantages. When everyone choose a personal car for comfort ride so they heavy traffic on the road and the road will be blocked and the ambulance got stuck in a traffic some time because a heavy traffic on a road. The public transport like bus ran on a road the bus take almost 30 passengers so the bus reduces a smog on the road and the smog is harmfull for our health or a body.On the other side when the 30 passengers who used a public transport they travles on a car so the 30 cars reduce smog on the road and people get sick of this smog and the smog is very danger or harmfull for human health.

In my opionion,i think everyone use a public transport to less polution on the road and the traffic ratio become less and this responsibility is the leader of country or the government of counrty who provide best or comfort and clean public transport to peoples. When peopels look at this oppournity so they become on a public transport.Personally i prefer public transport or electirc vehicles to less the polution ratio and safe oil for country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both parts of the prompt by describing effects on daily travel and giving a clear preference for public transport and electric vehicles, mainly because of congestion and pollution. The examples of ambulances being delayed and a bus carrying many passengers are relevant. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the benefits of private cars are listed, but the opening says you will discuss the advantages twice, and the overall judgement about whether the effects are positive or negative is not stated clearly until the final paragraph. Explain more directly how car reliance changes people’s lives, then weigh the convenience against its wider costs. The response meets the stated length requirement; nine words copied from the task prompt were excluded from the count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a recognisable paragraph structure: an introduction, a paragraph on benefits, one on drawbacks, and a concluding opinion. This gives the reader a basic route through the ideas. However, progression is weakened by the repeated and contradictory signposting in the introduction (“after advantages i will discuss about the advantages”), and several links are unclear or repetitive, such as “On the other side” and repeated references to “smog.” Some sentences combine several points without showing how they relate, particularly the comparison between bus passengers and cars. Use a clear plan, give each paragraph one main purpose, and connect examples explicitly to the central argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use enough basic vocabulary to communicate the main topic, including “traffic,” “public transport,” “ambulance,” and “pollution.” There are also attempts to express relevant concepts such as comfort, travel time, and health effects. However, the range is limited and many words or phrases are repeated, especially “car,” “smog,” “comfort,” and “harmfull.” Several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, including “people irritate from crowd sounds,” “the bus reduces a smog,” and “less pollution.” Spelling errors such as “emergancy,” “opionion,” and “electirc” also make the writing less clear. Build a more precise set of topic vocabulary and check spelling and common word combinations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with clauses, for example the sentence explaining that traffic can delay an ambulance. However, control is inconsistent, and frequent errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Examples include “people rely on private cars for travel to one place to another,” “he like to travel,” and “when you have an any emergancy work.” There are recurring problems with subject–verb agreement, articles, pronouns, plurals, and sentence boundaries; capitalisation and punctuation are also unreliable. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using one clear subordinate clause. Check that subjects and verbs agree and that each sentence expresses a complete, connected idea.
