Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both parts of the prompt by describing how car reliance affects daily life and judging its effects as mainly negative. The points about convenience for people without public transport, reduced physical activity, congestion, pollution and fossil-fuel use are relevant. However, the position is not consistently clear: the opening mentions environmental and health harms, while the first body paragraph also presents cars as a “boon” without clearly weighing this benefit against the drawbacks. Several claims need fuller explanation, and the Mumbai traffic statistic is presented without enough context or support. The conclusion is incomplete, so it does not clearly summarise your judgement. Develop fewer points with specific explanations and examples, and finish with a complete statement of your overall view.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is an attempt to organise the response into an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and phrases such as “For example” and “Additionally” signal examples and added points. However, progression between ideas is not always clear. The first body paragraph shifts from convenience to health, traffic and pollution, then ends with “Therefore,” without completing the thought. The second paragraph repeats several effects rather than extending the discussion, and the conclusion stops mid-sentence. Some linking phrases, including “Beginning with the former views” and “Shifting to the other notion,” do not clearly describe the relationship between the paragraphs. Use a clearer sequence—benefits first, then drawbacks—and ensure each paragraph develops one main idea with a complete ending.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “private transportation,” “public transportation,” “air pollution,” “noise pollution” and “fossil fuels,” which helps communicate the subject. There is also some effort to use less common expressions such as “devastating effect.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices, collocations and spelling errors make parts difficult to understand, for example “bad physical health,” “more convenient, comfortable lifestyle,” “declining of fossil fuels” and “government has suffer all the losses.” Repeated use of “effect,” “pollution” and “transportation” also limits precision. Choose more natural collocations and check spelling carefully; for instance, describe cars as “convenient” rather than saying they provide “more convenient lifestyle.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “while,” “as” and “which.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction can make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “private cars plays,” “Individual are perfering,” “a person with a private has,” and “government has suffer.” Some sentences also lack a complete grammatical structure, such as “Where a person with a private has more convenient…” and the unfinished conclusion. Practise building complete sentences around a clear subject and verb, then check agreement and tense. Breaking overloaded sentences into shorter, accurate ones would improve clarity while you develop more reliable complex structures.
