Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions by describing convenience and time-saving as benefits, then discussing pollution, health problems, and pressure on resources as harms. Your conclusion also signals an overall view that the negative effects are serious, although the position is not fully consistent: calling car use “the need of today progress” sits uneasily beside the claim that it creates “great problems.” The ideas are relevant, but several are asserted rather than explained; for example, the effect on the economy and depletion of resources are mentioned without showing how they occur. The response is also 7 words below the required minimum. Develop each main effect with a clearer explanation or example, and state directly whether the overall impact is positive or negative.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on benefits, one on harms, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the broad contrast between convenience and environmental costs. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, with signposts such as “Analyzing the statement,” “probing ahead,” and “In addition” doing more work than the connections between ideas. Some links are unclear, particularly “by using more vehicles affect the economy,” which does not show how this point follows from the pollution discussion. The conclusion repeats the general issue rather than resolving the mixed position. Use simpler, more precise transitions and organise each paragraph around one main effect, explaining it before moving to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt vocabulary suited to the topic, including “population growth,” “time management,” “air index,” and “natural resources,” and you use some relevant terms to discuss environmental and social effects. However, the range is limited and several spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make parts of the response difficult to read, such as “controvesial,” “naturan eco-system,” “strinking cause,” and “life threaten.” Some phrases are also imprecise, including “move at their field of work” and “need of today progress.” These issues fit a response with a minimally adequate range but noticeable inaccuracies. Build a bank of accurate topic collocations and check spelling and word forms; for example, use “commute to work” and “poses a serious threat to health.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast between benefits and harms and the example introduced by “For instance.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and punctuation frequently interrupt the flow. Examples include “This trend affect our routine life,” “everyone need to move,” and “It causing many health problems”; these require a correctly formed verb and agreement. The opening also contains a sentence fragment-like construction and several sentences run together without appropriate spacing or punctuation. These patterns make some relationships harder to understand. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and complete sentence structures first, then add complex clauses and review each sentence for punctuation.
