Student answer (Band 5.5)
We certainely believe that now a days we were mostly depends upon private car. We use private cars in all asects of life from grocery shopping, to work, from a short trip to along drive we use private cars. If we illustrate the data from past two-three years, around 70% population use private cars as a mode of commute. It affects our way of day to day living.
Each coin had two faces both positive and negative. However, in this case according to me we have more disadvantages rather than advantages. Now a days, we more often use private cars because of that it affects our health also. For example: if we have to go for grocery shopping, we use cars rather than go by walk. We all know in ancient time we moslty complete tasks by walking and in result our ancestors are fit and lives a health life.
Usage of private cars includes several disadvantages like; increase in pollution, obesity in early childhood, heavy traffic, more prone to accidents. Therefore, it has a good advantage which i like the most is that, if we have some urgent work to do at a particular time period, then we don't have to wait for someone else.
Putting my pens down stating that using private cars are good but for a limited extent. We have to look for the aspects which affect our day to day and most importantly our health. We should treate our body as a temple and for the sake of our good health we should pritorise walking also.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You answer both parts of the question: you describe effects on daily life, including health, pollution, traffic and accidents, and you make your view clear that the disadvantages outweigh the benefits. The grocery-shopping example helps illustrate how car use can reduce walking, while the urgent-work example acknowledges a practical advantage. However, several points are listed rather than explained. For instance, “obesity in early childhood” and accidents are mentioned without showing how car dependence contributes to them, and the claim about ancestors being healthier is broad and unsupported. Develop fewer effects with clearer cause-and-effect reasoning and a specific example, and state your overall position more directly in the introduction to make the response more complete and convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph focused mainly on disadvantages, a paragraph that includes both disadvantages and an advantage, and a concluding recommendation. Basic linking phrases such as “However,” “For example,” and “Therefore” help readers follow the discussion. At times, though, progression is uneven: the third paragraph shifts from a list of harms to the single benefit without a clear transition, and the conclusion introduces walking again rather than drawing together the main effects. Some connections are also unclear, such as “Each coin had two faces both positive and negative.” Organise the body around one main idea per paragraph and use more precise links to show how each example supports your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “private cars,” “mode of commute,” “pollution,” “heavy traffic,” and “prone to accidents.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main points, and phrases such as “urgent work” convey a practical benefit. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, which makes parts of the response less clear: “along drive,” “complete tasks by walking,” and “a good advantage” are examples. Spelling errors such as “certainely,” “asects,” and “pritorise” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of collocations for transport and its effects, and check spelling and word forms carefully when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a conditional example beginning “if we have some urgent work” and a sentence explaining the effect of car use on health. However, control is inconsistent, and frequent errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “we were mostly depends,” “Each coin had two faces both positive and negative,” and “our ancestors are fit and lives a health life,” where verb forms, agreement, or sentence construction are faulty. There are also problems with articles and sentence boundaries, as in “Usage of private cars includes several disadvantages like; increase in pollution.” Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and joining clauses with appropriate punctuation before attempting longer sentences.
