Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response is significantly under-length at 152 words, which severely limits your ability to develop your ideas. While you clearly state your position that cell phone use should be banned, the essay is incomplete, ending abruptly mid-sentence. Because the response is unfinished, the task is only partially addressed, and the arguments regarding social media addiction are not fully supported or extended. To improve, you must ensure you meet the 250-word minimum to allow for a full exploration of your arguments and a proper conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay shows some attempt at logical organization, using transition signals like 'To begin with' and 'Hence'. However, the abrupt ending and the lack of a clear paragraph structure for the second point hinder the overall flow. Cohesive devices are used in a somewhat mechanical way, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence starting with 'that demand their presence'. To reach a higher band, focus on developing complete paragraphs and ensuring that ideas are linked smoothly throughout the entire essay.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You use some relevant terms like 'distract', 'addiction', and 'on road safety', but there are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'In some decade utilization' and 'weather it is Instagram'. These errors do not completely impede communication, but they do limit the sophistication of your writing. Try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and pay closer attention to word forms and spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('every people... is', 'other people who is driving') and incorrect article usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and sentence fragments. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors is high. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like subject-verb agreement and pluralization.
