Student answer (Band 6.5)
In the fast-paced era, the restriction on using mobile phones by drivers while they are driving is viable. Cell phones can easily distract people. I am firmly positive that making use of cell phones should be illegal for drivers while they are driving.
There are some life-threatening consequences of distracted driving on the roads. That makes it more realiazed of making illegal of using cell phone while driving. Sometimes people may lose their lives because of distracted driving, resulting in a road crash. Additionally, in some major accidents, innocent people lose their lives because of someone distracted by smartphones.
Moreover, youngsters have an addition of smartphones. They literally cannot stay focused if smartphones are around them. Thus, whenever they get a few minutes while driving a car, they will try to scroll on their smartphone without any reasons. For Instance, I personally saw many times that people are using their cellphones while they stand at a red light signal and wait for it to turn it in green.
On the other hand, some people argue that cell phones should not be illegal, as many drivers use their cell phones to navigate to their destination. As some routes are new for drivers. It is very difficult to drive on an unfamiliar road.
In my opinion, just making the use of smartphones illegal for drivers is not enough. In order to stop being distracted from driving. local government should spread the consequences of distracted driving as well share the tips of stay focused while driving. This will yield more efficient results on the road.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You have provided relevant arguments regarding the dangers of distracted driving and the potential for accidents. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the point about youngsters having an 'addition' (addiction) to smartphones is a good start, but it could be expanded with more specific reasoning on how this affects driving safety. The conclusion introduces a new idea about government awareness campaigns, which is relevant but slightly shifts the focus away from the core argument of whether it should be illegal. Overall, the response is well-structured and directly answers the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Additionally', 'Moreover', and 'Thus' to connect your ideas. However, the flow between some sentences is slightly mechanical, and there are instances where referencing is unclear, such as 'That makes it more realiazed of making illegal of using cell phone'. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different arguments.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to express your ideas, but there are several instances of inaccurate word choice and word formation. For example, you used 'addition' instead of 'addiction', 'realiazed' instead of 'realization', and 'make illegal of' instead of 'criminalizing'. These errors do not generally impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your argument. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring that word forms are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'making illegal of using cell phone' and 'turn it in green'. Punctuation is generally acceptable, but some sentence fragments and awkward phrasing, such as 'In the fast-paced era, the restriction... is viable', detract from the clarity. The majority of your sentences are understandable, but the frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents a higher score.
