Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of banning cell phone use while driving. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention distractions and social media, the arguments lack depth and specific analysis. Furthermore, the response falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the overall task completion. To improve, you should expand on your supporting points with more detailed explanations and ensure you meet the minimum word count to fully develop your argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'At the end' instead of 'In conclusion' or 'Firstly' and 'Secondly' used with awkward phrasing. The progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus will help improve the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and often repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'Use the mobile during operate a vehicle' instead of 'Using a mobile phone while operating a vehicle' and 'striket rules' instead of 'strict regulations'. Many phrases are unnatural, which occasionally makes the meaning difficult to follow. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning common collocations and using more precise vocabulary related to the topic of road safety and technology.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('mobile screen attract'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or contain basic errors that impede clarity, such as 'It can distracted the focus on driver.' The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. To improve, you need to focus on basic sentence construction, verb tenses, and proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect word forms.
