It is often argued that using mobile phone while driving is dangerous for each and every person on the road. Thus, mobile phone useage should be restricted while driving. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 143 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you clearly state your position in the introduction, the body paragraphs are severely underdeveloped. The second paragraph introduces relevant points about distraction and enforcement, but it ends abruptly mid-sentence, leaving the argument incomplete. To achieve a higher band, you must fully develop your arguments with sufficient supporting evidence and reach a complete conclusion. The current length prevents a full response to the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay shows a basic attempt at logical organization with an introduction and a body paragraph. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with' and 'In addition' to link ideas. However, the progression is interrupted by the incomplete nature of the text. Paragraphing is present, but the abrupt ending makes the overall structure feel unfinished. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence, supporting details, and a concluding thought, and ensure the essay is completed in full to maintain a logical flow throughout.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, though it is somewhat repetitive and limited in range. You use terms like 'root cause', 'distraction', and 'collision' correctly. However, there are minor errors such as 'useage' (usage) and 'driver mind' (drivers' minds). To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and ensure correct word forms. For example, instead of 'make a right decision', you could use 'exercise sound judgment'. Expanding your range of collocations will help you move into higher band scores.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as missing articles ('using mobile phone' should be 'using a mobile phone') and subject-verb agreement issues ('drivers lost control' should be 'drivers lose control'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the incomplete final sentence indicates a lack of control over the overall structure. To improve, focus on consistent verb tense usage and ensure that articles and plurals are used correctly. Proofreading for these small errors will significantly enhance the clarity of your writing.
