Student answer (Band 6.5)
Distraction driving is a common issue today's time as some of them uses cell phones while driving which cause a great threat towards the community and it should count as felony. I strongly agree with this notion and will present my views.
Handheld cell phone use by drivers is already illegal in the vast majority of developed jurisdictions. In many countries it is an unlawful event that is not ignored by the police. For instance, People who have a habit of watching reels or scrolling social media events while driving heavy trucks often ends up in a accident. This has disturbed the community and develped a fear while crusing on the road. People feel insecure when they travel with their family. Hypothetically, god forbid if any incident occurs that includes fatal damage towards the third party, an immigrant driver only gets the several years of imprisonment and set free or deported back to his country. Whereas, the family members who suffered a great loss cannot bear the death of their loved ones and left only with the memories.
I believe government should uphold a strict action towards this issue as it has been inclining daily. The parliament members should unite and oppose law towards distraction driving. As an illustration, they can research and install infrared beams on the highway that can catch the driver who use cell phone while driving and penalise heavily with demrit points or license suspense for at least a year. Above example is already in place in Dubai where the laws are rigorous towards this illegal act. This can be costly advancement but effective compared to human lives.
In the end, it all depends on the person's mentality. Mature drivers should enjoy the views on the road not on the phone. They should feel the sense of responsibilty of other becasue someone is waiting for them at their home.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have clearly stated your position in the introduction and maintained it throughout the essay. The ideas are relevant, particularly the suggestion regarding technological enforcement. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The second paragraph introduces a hypothetical scenario about immigrant drivers that is slightly tangential and detracts from the focus on the dangers of distraction. To improve, ensure all supporting points directly reinforce the argument for why cell phone use should be illegal. The conclusion is a bit brief and could have better summarised your main arguments to provide a stronger sense of closure.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'For instance' and 'Whereas', to link ideas. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel abrupt. For example, the jump from the discussion of accidents to the specific mention of immigrant drivers lacks a smooth logical bridge. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, such as 'Above example is already in place', which would be better phrased as 'This system is already in place'. Improving the variety of linking words would enhance the overall progression.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'jurisdictions', 'penalise', and 'rigorous'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'distraction driving' (should be 'distracted driving'), 'inclining daily' (should be 'increasing'), and 'license suspense' (should be 'license suspension'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit your score. To reach a higher band, focus on using collocations more accurately and avoiding repetitive phrasing like 'cell phone use' and 'driving' in every sentence.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is good. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('some of them uses', 'often ends up'), missing articles ('in a accident'), and awkward phrasing ('it should count as felony'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are minor errors in sentence construction that require the reader to re-read for clarity. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage, and try to incorporate more varied complex sentence structures with greater precision.
