Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have addressed the prompt by clearly stating your position that mobile phone use while driving should be illegal. The ideas are relevant, such as the distraction factor and the influence of peer pressure on younger drivers. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The reference to 'Dubia' (Dubai) and the specific statistics provided lack clarity and seem slightly disconnected from the argument. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting examples are more logically integrated and that you fully explore the implications of your position rather than relying on potentially invented statistics.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'In conclusion' to signal transitions. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical. For instance, the transition in the first paragraph from general mobile phone usage to the specific topic of driving is a bit abrupt. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, such as the phrase 'it also leads their life at risk' which lacks a clear antecedent. Improving the variety of linking words would enhance the overall progression.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'distracted', 'mishappening', and 'peer groups'. However, there are instances of awkward phrasing and non-standard collocations, such as 'aura farming' (which is informal slang) and 'mishappening becomes more certain'. The word 'superior' is also used slightly inaccurately in the context of peer pressure. To improve, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and avoid colloquialisms or internet slang that may not be appropriate for a formal IELTS essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally hinder the flow. Examples include 'it should made illegal' (missing 'be'), 'from last 10 years' (should be 'over the last 10 years'), and 'put people's life in danger' (should be plural 'lives'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are noticeable. To achieve a higher score, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct preposition usage, and ensuring that passive voice constructions are formed correctly.
