Student answer (Band 5.0)
While driving using cell phone should be illegal because it distract the driver. I am totally agree to this statement.
Drivers should not use their cell phone while driving , A single notification can distract them and may cause such a serious accidents. Cell phone distraction cause serious damage to driver as well as as the person who is going to the road also get damaged. Therefore, most of the car accidents cause due to cell phone distraction. Few months ago, one of my relatives was went for Amritsar by car when he drove his car on bypassing road he got notification message from his home, when he pick up his phone his attention to the road got distracted and he lost his car control and when he try to get back his attention to road but he gone to too late the car front of him suddenly applied breaks which cause the collision in both of cars Therefore, our relative tried to get out of car futher which another car hitted back of his car. Afterall when he get out of his car he seemed that the person who hitted his car from back was also distracted from mobile phone after the front car driver start apologising him. The front car driver siad " my bad I applied brakes due to suddenly a deer was came in front of me." Then our relative apologised too and tooked a decison to not using phone while driving , Therefore the drivers and he was not harmed anymore but his story gave a lesson that we should not use phone while driving.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of banning cell phone use while driving. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you provide a personal anecdote to support your argument, the essay lacks a broader discussion of the societal or legal implications of such a ban. The argument is somewhat repetitive, focusing primarily on the mechanics of a single accident rather than exploring the topic in depth. To improve, ensure you provide more varied arguments, such as the impact on public safety or the effectiveness of enforcement, to fully develop your response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks clear paragraphing, which makes the progression of ideas difficult to follow. The text is presented as a single block, and the transition between the introduction, the anecdote, and the conclusion is abrupt. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Therefore' and 'Afterall', they are often used incorrectly or repetitively. The narrative of the accident is confusing due to poor sentence structure and a lack of logical sequencing, which hinders the reader's ability to follow the sequence of events. Improving paragraph structure and using a wider variety of linking words would significantly enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and often repetitive, relying on simple terms like 'distracted', 'serious', and 'accident'. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'hitted back' instead of 'rear-ended' or 'collided', and 'tooked a decison' instead of 'made a decision'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas with precision. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning collocations related to driving and safety, and practice using more sophisticated synonyms to avoid repeating the same words throughout the text.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are significant issues with verb tenses, such as 'was went for' instead of 'was driving to' and 'deer was came' instead of 'a deer came'. Subject-verb agreement is also inconsistent, for example, 'cell phone distraction cause' instead of 'causes'. Punctuation is problematic, with commas used incorrectly and sentences often run-on or fragmented. The range of structures is limited to simple sentences, and attempts at more complex structures result in errors. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for tense consistency is essential.
