Student answer (Band 6.5)
Cell phones has become a crucial part of individuals life. However, while driving vehicle, the use of phone may be hazardous as driver may distracted easily. That is why I am strongly agree with the notion that using mobile phone during driving should be illegal because it can cause serious accidents and put others life at risk as well.
Among the myriad of reasons of my agreement with the phenomenon, predominant one is that phone use while driving may distract the user. In other words, when any driver use there phone for call or text, they are likely to take there eyes off the road for several seconds and and even a little distraction can prevent a driver from noticing traffic lights and pedestrian or another vehicle ahead them. A driver, for instance , who is doing message , is less likely to stop the car quickly if any vehicle in front of them suddenly stops. So it can pose a risk or injuries or even fatalities consequently.
Another reason is that if higher authorities make the use of phone illegal and introduce strict laws and penalties , people are encouraged to behave responsibly and they will think twice before using phone. Campaigns to aware people may be arranged by government where people are taught about the dangers associated with cell phone use during vehicle driving. In these campaigns, people may be motivated to put their phone on silent mode or use hand free system only when it is necessary. These kind of measures may make roads safer , as a result.
All in all, albeit , the mobile phone has taken paramount importance in everyone's life ; however , i strongly support the approach of making phone use illegal for vehicle users as it can pose the risk to the life of not only drivers but others also.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the task and maintains a clear position throughout. You have provided relevant reasons for your agreement, such as the risk of distraction and the potential for government intervention through legislation and awareness campaigns. The ideas are extended and supported with examples, such as the scenario of a driver failing to notice a pedestrian. To reach a higher band, ensure that your arguments are developed with more depth; for instance, you could discuss the counter-argument regarding the necessity of phones for navigation or emergencies to show a more balanced, sophisticated perspective, even while maintaining your strong stance.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central topic, and there is a progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'In other words', 'For instance', and 'All in all'. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive. Additionally, there are some minor issues with punctuation, such as the spacing around commas and the misuse of 'albeit' in the conclusion, which disrupts the flow. Improving the variety and naturalness of your linking words would help elevate this score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'myriad', 'predominant', 'fatalities', and 'paramount importance'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'doing message' instead of 'texting' or 'sending a message', and 'vehicle driving' instead of 'driving a vehicle'. There are also minor grammatical errors affecting word forms, such as 'individuals life' (individual's) and 'there phone' (their). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over collocation and word forms to reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that occur throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Cell phones has become'), incorrect pronoun usage ('use there phone'), and punctuation errors (extra spaces before commas). While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement, correct pronoun usage, and standard punctuation rules, as these are foundational for achieving a higher score in grammatical accuracy.
