Student answer (Band 5.5)

I do agree that using mobile should not be legal for drivers. Therefore just like every thing this also have pros and cons . let us discuss in upcoming paraghraphs.

To begin with. using cell phone while driving should be illegal because it can cause collision. As while drive there are numberous of hazzards on road cell phone is also one of those as it can distract the person who is driving and make a possibility to hit othe objects on road. Secoundly, listening loud music by connecting cell phone with carplay make hard to listening horns, police and other emergency sirens which can be considered as a voilation and increases possibility of getting traffic voilation ticket. For example the traffic police of India revealed in 2024 that secound most revenue was generated by doing challans for using cell phone while driving which was around 45 million rupees.

On the other hand, cell phone should not be banned as they can assit the driver. Cell phone can be used by driver to see the directions of route to save time and gas also reach the right destination. To illustrate, research done by er.dysion says the use of google map rised 98 percent in past two decads as it aid public to be on time by showing short and fastest roadmap.

To sum up. In my opinion cell phone should not be used by driver’s as it can make drivers distracted and in some cases becomes obstacle for emergency vehicles where as it can be useful for those who want to see maps.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position, though the development is inconsistent. You provide relevant reasons for the dangers of cell phone use, such as distraction and emergency vehicle obstruction. However, the counter-argument regarding navigation is somewhat contradictory to your initial stance, and the conclusion fails to clearly reconcile these points, as you suggest a ban while simultaneously acknowledging the utility of maps. To reach a higher band, ensure your position is maintained consistently throughout and that your supporting examples are more logically integrated into your argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'Therefore just like every thing this also have pros and cons' is a weak transition. Additionally, some sentences are fragmented, such as 'To begin with. using cell phone...', where the punctuation disrupts the flow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the logical progression between the body paragraphs and the conclusion could be smoother. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several spelling errors, such as 'hazzards', 'secound', 'voilation', 'assit', and 'rised'. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle with correct collocations, such as 'doing challans' instead of 'issuing fines'. While you attempt to use some topic-specific language like 'collision' and 'emergency sirens', the frequent spelling and word-choice errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. Expanding your range of academic vocabulary and focusing on accurate spelling will help you move into a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('this also have'), incorrect article usage, and punctuation errors (e.g., 'To sum up. In my opinion...'). The sentence 'Secoundly, listening loud music by connecting cell phone with carplay make hard to listening horns' contains multiple errors in grammar and word form. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic structures prevents the response from achieving a higher score. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and verb forms.
