Student answer (Band 5.5)
In today's technical world mobile phones are became significant part of our daily life for instance, business, education, communication and much more. Using cell phone while driving is extremly dangerous and should be made illegal. I am completely agree with the statement for number of reasons explained below.
Furthermore, we have often seen individulas using phones while they are driving on roads. while doing this they are not only risking their life as well as other passengers on the roads. It often noticed that while person is talking on the phone, chatting or scrolling social media plattforms they get easily distract by phone and get involved in higer risk road accident which might cost their life too.
Similarly, this could became even more dangerous for padestrian when they try to cross roads on busy highway or even in the city during rush hours because if driver is focusing on the phone there will be higer chance that they will not notice padestrian who is crossing the road. For instance i have seen many cases where animals like dog and cow sudden appears on the road and driver fails to stop because they are not focussed and involved with their phone. By stricter law and regulation these kind of road accident will definately going to reduce and will promote safety on roads.
In conclusion, I would like to metioned that with enforcing rules and regulation proposed in statement will provide a safer environment on roads as a resut will be witness less road accident.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, taking a clear position that cell phone use while driving should be made illegal. The writer introduces relevant ideas regarding driver distraction, threats to passengers and pedestrians, and the involvement of animals on roads. However, the development of these ideas tends to be slightly repetitive and lacks deeper extension. For instance, the mention of animals like 'dog and cow' is a bit simplistic and anecdotal. Despite minor under-development in places, the overall position is maintained throughout, and the main arguments are sufficiently linked to the prompt. Therefore, this performance aligns well with the Band 6 descriptors for Task Achievement, as it addresses all parts of the task with relevant ideas, though some are somewhat generalized or underdeveloped.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance stated in the introduction and reinforced in the conclusion. Paragraphing is utilized, with distinct paragraphs for the introduction, body points, and conclusion. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty or mechanical. For example, the transitional phrases used, such as 'Furthermore' and 'Similarly', do not always introduce the most logical progression of ideas between paragraphs. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, and some sentences run on without appropriate punctuation, making the flow somewhat choppy. Overall cohesion is adequate for a Band 6, showing a clear attempt to structure the essay logically despite mechanical and occasionally inaccurate cohesive devices.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'significant part', 'social media plattforms', and 'stricter law and regulation'. However, there are notable spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, such as 'extremly' instead of 'extremely', 'individulas', 'plattforms', 'higer', 'padestrian', 'focussed', 'metioned', and 'resut'. There are also grammatical phrasing issues with word formation like 'technical world' instead of 'technological world' and 'became' instead of 'become'. These errors do not seriously impede communication as the meaning remains clear, but they restrict the lexical score. This performance fits comfortably into Band 5.5, showing a minimally adequate range with noticeable spelling and lexical errors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as 'Using cell phone while driving is extremly dangerous and should be made illegal' and conditional-like phrasing 'if driver is focusing on the phone there will be higer chance...'. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly regarding verb tense usage ('are became', 'It often noticed', 'this could became', 'accident will definately going to reduce'), missing articles ('Using cell phone', 'on roads'), and punctuation errors. These errors occur across both simple and complex structures and can cause some difficulty for the reader, although communication is generally maintained. This matches the Band 5 descriptors where attempts at complex sentences are often faulty and frequent errors persist.
