Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, the usage of smart phones become increasing while doing every activity, and because of this people faced many problems. Many believed that mobiles should be banned by government while doing some important work which require full attention. I strongly agree with this statement because this would be beneficial for the public.
There are many benefits of mobile phones, but it may become dangerous when people do not use it properly. To illustrate this, numerous people use thier phone while driving. It is very dangerous because it might be a reason of accident. However, some people use the mobile phones for the navigation. So, it is useful for tracking the locations but texting and messaging should be banned by policy makers because it might distract a person. Consequently, the people should installed a screen in their cars that help them for using maps, this can prevents them from any bad moment.
Mobiles are neccessary in the sense of stay connected with families, and to get updates of the country. Therefore, if phones are banned, people would not get any update of their love ones. For example, a wife is pregnant and she needs to go at hospital immediately. She calls her husband first.
If phones are banned, her husband cannot attend her call while driving and this would be dangerous for them. So, the best solution is when there is some emergency, people should park their car at any safe place and attend the call.
In conclusion, I agree with using the mobile while driving to some extents. But, there should be some informative sessions for public, in which experts should teach everyone that how to save from accidents and also stay connected with your family in any urgency.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear general view that phone use while driving is dangerous and suggest safer alternatives, including using a car screen for navigation and stopping in a safe place to answer an emergency call. These examples are relevant to the topic. However, the position is not fully consistent: you begin by strongly agreeing that use should be illegal, but later say you agree with using phones while driving “to some extents.” The distinction between prohibited activities and permitted uses needs to be stated clearly. The emergency example also does not fully explain why a driver needs to answer while moving, since your proposed solution is to pull over. Develop the reasons for a clear, consistent policy and support them more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the ideas generally remain connected to phone use while driving. However, progression is uneven: the first body paragraph moves from danger to navigation and then to installing a screen, while the next shifts to family contact and emergencies without clearly linking this to the argument about legality. Connect each paragraph to one main point and explain how it supports your position. Some linking phrases, such as “Therefore,” “Consequently,” and “So,” are used mechanically or do not show a precise relationship. The conclusion also introduces a position that conflicts with the opening. Clearer referencing and transitions would make the argument easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “distracted,” “navigation,” “policy makers,” and “emergency.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “screen in their cars” and “safe place.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning less natural: “the usage of smart phones become increasing,” “a reason of accident,” and “updates of the country.” Spelling errors such as “thier” and “neccessary” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise phrases and check spelling; for example, describe phone use as “increasing,” an accident as something it “could cause,” and news as “updates about events in the country.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, using clauses with “because,” “when,” and “if,” as well as examples and conditional ideas. This gives the response some structural variety. However, errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction, and they sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “the usage of smart phones become increasing,” “people faced many problems,” “the people should installed,” and “this can prevents them.” There are also awkwardly formed clauses, such as “a wife is pregnant and she needs to go at hospital immediately.” Review subject–verb agreement and verb patterns, and practise building accurate conditional sentences. More reliable control of these forms would make your ideas clearer.
