Student answer (Band 6.0)
Usage of mobile phone whilst driving is detrimental because it causes the driver to become scatterbrained. Hence, cell phones use by drivers should be prohibited . I definitely agree with the above statement.
Nowadays, everyone is using smartphones while driving car or motorbike. This practice is extremely dangerous and people are facing serious repercussions. For instance, About 30% of individuals lose their lives everyday by using mobile phones while driving. People should be discouraged by government to stop using phones when driving. There are no strict traffic rules. For example, In metropolitan cities like Delhi where traffic is a major issue and there is no road safety. People are still taking risk by using phone while driving. Majority of people don't even wear safety gears and seat belts.
To explicate, the major reason behind this practice is social media. People spend half of their time on social media. They are occupied scrolling reels while driving. People are getting addicted to mobile phones. They cannot stay away from phones. Lately, the trend of making videos is circulating every where. People make reels while driving or daily bloggers shot there daily life even while driving. Cell phones should be made unlawful. Hefty fines should be introduced by authorities. School students should be made aware of traffic rules and safety gears. Recruitment of more traffic police should introduce. Strict checking needs to addressed on public. Installation of street cameras will be helpful in tracking such individuals who use phone while driving.Policymakers should also make active plans to make people aware of traffic regulations. Enforcement of strict punishment should be introduced for people violating the laws. This trend needs a prompt attention by government officials before it causes serious problems.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the opening: “I definitely agree,” and the response stays focused on the danger of phone use and the need for legal controls. You offer relevant supporting points, including social-media distraction, risky video-making, fines, cameras and traffic-police enforcement. This covers the task well, and the practical proposals show some development beyond simply stating agreement. However, several claims are asserted rather than explained: the figure that “30%” die every day is unsupported, and the Delhi example is not developed to show how phone use contributes to danger. The discussion also shifts toward general road-safety issues such as seat belts. To strengthen the response, explain the causal link between distraction and crashes and support key examples more carefully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph describing the problem, and a longer paragraph giving causes and proposed measures. Connectors such as “For instance,” “To explicate,” and “Hence” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression within the final paragraph is uneven: it moves from social media to fines, school awareness, police recruitment, cameras and policymaking without grouping these measures or explaining their order. Some linking is mechanical, and references such as “this practice” and “this trend” do not always identify a precise point. The opening paragraph also repeats the prompt’s claim before stating your position. Group related ideas into clear paragraphs and use transitions that show cause, consequence and solution more precisely.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic vocabulary, including “detrimental,” “repercussions,” “addicted,” “unlawful,” “installation” and “enforcement.” These choices show an effort to move beyond basic wording, and the main meaning is generally clear. However, several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “scatterbrained” for a driver who is distracted, “cell phones use,” and “daily bloggers shot there daily life.” There are also spelling and word-form problems, including “every where” and “there” for “their.” Repetition of “people,” “driving” and “phone” limits flexibility. Aim for precise collocations and check spelling and word forms; for example, use “mobile-phone use” and “record their daily lives.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including the cause-and-effect construction “because it causes the driver to become…” and the relative clause “cities like Delhi where traffic is a major issue.” The main argument remains understandable, but grammatical control is inconsistent, with errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction. Examples include “driving car or motorbike,” “Recruitment of more traffic police should introduce,” and “needs to addressed”; these require forms such as “driving a car or motorbike,” “should be introduced,” and “needs to be addressed.” Some sentence boundaries and punctuation are also faulty, particularly where long lists run together. Practise accurate passive forms and complete sentence patterns, then proofread each sentence for its subject and verb.
