Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the contemporary era, there is a heated argument over the issue that Governments should introduce some policies as per them they have to pay the universities fees instead of Students. I am totally agree with this Statement. I will elaborate my viewpoints in this essay.

First and the foremost reason is that It can help the Low Income families, those who cannot afford to educate their offspring from Universities. Resulting into, Countries will grow more even in all sectors such as engineering and Nursing. If Government bodies do not follow this, then this results into lack of higher Education . Therefore, a country having less educated children and this can lead to darker future of the country. However, this can affect the country growth.

Secondly, Education play vital role in person's Life. It teaches the etiquettes to live in the society. The children who are brought up in the Low Income families and they cannot afford their child's University level education; they are uneducated and due to this they do crimes, and take drugs because they do not have any knowledge as well as do not know the consequences of the activities they perform such as drug Intake. They are free all the time and do not have chores so their mind diverts on wrong side.

On the other side, some critics go against this idea. They thinks that it can cause burden on government .

To conclude that government should put their feet to eradicate this menace.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of government-funded university education. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive. The argument regarding crime and drug use is a significant over-generalization and lacks logical depth, which prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Furthermore, the essay falls just short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which necessitates a penalty in this criterion. To improve, you should expand on your points with more nuanced reasoning and ensure you meet the minimum word count to avoid unnecessary deductions.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. While you use basic cohesive devices like 'First and the foremost' and 'Secondly', the transitions between sentences are often mechanical or abrupt. For example, the shift from discussing economic growth to the social issue of crime feels disjointed. Additionally, the conclusion is extremely brief and does not effectively summarize the main points of the essay. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, unified focus would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. You rely on basic terms like 'good' or 'bad' (implied) and repeat words like 'country' and 'education' frequently. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'darker future of the country' and 'put their feet to eradicate this menace', which sound unnatural. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition and add sophistication to your arguments.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. Issues include incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'Education play vital role'), capitalization errors (e.g., 'Governments', 'Low Income'), and awkward sentence fragments. The use of articles and prepositions is also inconsistent. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. You should focus on subject-verb agreement and proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy to improve your score.
