Student answer (Band 7.0)
Many people believe that the government should fully funded universties so that the higher education is free for everyone. I largely agree with this notion because it provides the equal opportunities and better life style to the students.
The first reason is that the free education in universities will give the equal chance of succeed to every student because sometimes talented students cannot complete their higher study because of their financial background. So,if there is no fees for education, then they can fully concentrate on their studies that will increase their productivity and will be beneficial for the economic growth of the nation in the future.
The another advatage of free education is that it reduces the student debt. After finishing their studies some students have to payback their study loan that delays their future plans such as buying house, start a new business and purchase their dream car. Thus, free education can provide them an opportunity to get early success in their life. For example,In Japan ,low- budget or free universities help studnts to get good grades rather than taking financial stress.
On the other hand, fully free education sometimes spoil the behaviour of student as they do not value it if they do not contribute financially. Moreover, fully funded universties can place a burden on the govenments. So, the institution fees should be funded by government while other expenses like accomodation, books and transportation should be managed by themselves.
In conclusion, government should support students finacially by paying their tution fees and provide equal chance to everyone and reduce their finanacial stress but this policy requires public funding.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, clearly stating a position in the introduction and maintaining it throughout. The ideas are relevant, such as the economic benefits of educated graduates and the reduction of student debt. However, the development of these points is somewhat basic. For instance, the example regarding Japan is a bit vague and could be more effectively integrated to support the argument. While the position is clear, the supporting arguments would benefit from more depth and specific evidence to reach a higher band. Overall, the response is well-structured and directly answers the question.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central theme, such as the benefits of free education and the counter-argument regarding government burden. Cohesive devices like 'The first reason', 'The another advantage', and 'On the other hand' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or grammatically awkward, such as 'The another advatage'. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and the progression of ideas is generally easy to follow, though the flow could be smoother with more varied linking phrases.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'financial background', 'economic growth', and 'tuition fees'. However, there are several spelling errors (e.g., 'universties', 'advatage', 'studnts', 'govenments', 'finacially', 'tution') and some minor word choice issues, such as 'spoils the behaviour' instead of 'diminishes the value'. While the range is sufficient to convey meaning, the frequent spelling mistakes and limited variety in vocabulary prevent a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'should be fully funded universties' (passive voice error), 'the equal opportunities' (article usage), and 'if there is no fees' (subject-verb agreement). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing around commas. While these errors are noticeable, they do not significantly impede communication. To improve, the student should focus on subject-verb agreement, correct article usage, and proofreading for basic grammatical slips.
