Student answer (Band 7.0)
EDUCATION IS THE FOUNDATION OF A NATION'S SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. NOWADAYS PEOPLE ARE GETTING A FREE SCHOOLING FROM MANY WEBSITES. HOWEVER, RELIABLE AND GOOD EDUCATIONS PROVIDE BY SCHOOLS AND UNIVERSITIES ALL AROUND THE WORLD. MOREOVER, MANY INDIVIDUAL WANT TO LEARN FROM A GOVERNMENT FUNDED COLLEGES FREE OF COST. I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH THIS VIEW BECAUSE IT PROVIDES EQUAL OPPORTUNITIESFOR ALL STUDENTS AND HELPS DEVELOP A HIGHLY SKILLED WORKFORCE.
FIRSTLY, THERE SHOULD BE AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY FOR EVERYONE. AS, MANY TALENTED STUDENTS CANNOT AFFORD EXPENSIVE COURSES. FOR INSTANCE, INDIVIDUAL WHO BELONG TO LOW CLASS SOCIETY IS NOT ABLE TO BUY STUDY MATERIALS, LAPTOP AND MORE CONVENIENT ENVIRONMENT TO STUDY AND MAKE THEIR FUTURE BRIGHT. THEREFORE, ADDMISSIONS SHOULD BE DONE ON MERIT LIST RATHER THAN ON THE BASIS OF DONATION TO GET AND ADMISSION.
SECONDLY, A MORE EDUCATED WORKFORCE BENEFITS THE COUNTRY. MORE GRADUATES MEANS MORE SKILLED PROFESSIONALS, IT EVENTUALLY BENEFITS GOVERNMENT OF COUNTRY IN TAX DEDUCTION. FOR EXAMPLE, IF MORE STUDENTS STUDY NURSING OR MEDICINE COURSE FOR FREE, THERE WILL BE MORE HEALTHCARE WORKERS TO SERVE THE PUBLIC.
LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST, MORE INNOVATION AND RESEARCH. THE GOVERNMENT FUNDING SUPPORTS RESEARCH THAT BENEFITS SOCIETY IN DAY TO DAY LIFE. SUCH AS, BY PRODUCING NEW TECHNOLOGIES AND MEDICAL DISCOVERIES, HOSPITAL IS ABLE TO OFFER BETTER TREATMENT TO THE PATIENT IN A PROPER TIME AT AN AFFORDABLE COST.
TO CONCLUDE, GOVERNMENT SHOULD MAKE UNIVERSITY EDUCATION FREE BECAUSE IT ENABLES TALENTED STUDENTS TO PURSUE THEIR AMBITIONS REGARDLESS OF THEIR FINANCIAL BACKGROUND AND CONTRIBUTES TO THE COUNTRY'S LONG-TERM ECONOMIS AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
The response addresses all parts of the task and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding equal opportunity, economic benefits, and innovation are relevant and logically extended. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed; for instance, the point about 'tax deduction' is a bit vague and could have been explained more clearly in relation to government funding. Overall, the essay provides a solid, well-supported argument that directly answers the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central topic, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'To conclude' are used effectively to guide the reader. While some transitions are a bit mechanical, the overall structure is coherent and the paragraphing is appropriate for the task.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task. The student uses some topic-specific terms like 'highly skilled workforce', 'financial background', and 'innovation'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'reliable and good educations provide by schools' (should be 'education provided by') and 'economis' (spelling error). The range is sufficient to convey meaning clearly, but lacks the precision and sophistication required for a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('many individual want', 'hospital is able to offer') and article misuse ('a government funded colleges'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. Despite these errors, the communication is not impeded, and the student demonstrates an attempt at complex sentence construction.
