Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, many people believe that government should pay all the costs of running universities such as free education

However this is a topic that has become increasingly common in today's society. I completely agree with this because free educations help the poor families to send there children for good education.

One of the main reason is that free educations in universities can boost the any countries economy. How this is going to work is simple if education is free everyone in society so people will become well educate which will help the government and private sectors too boost there company's.

for example if everyone in society is have high education they can startup new business ideas like Facebook which is invented by collage young boy name Mark Zuckerberg this is possible because he has tools and good knowledge which come through study.

Another important point is the government have a good rapitation in other country which can help them to make good relations with stronger countries and there local residents are also stay happy and supported to the government.

the mainly reason is that because there children are getting free educations which help the government to build more trust with there nation people. For Instance when the basic need is complete of people such as education in country and all people live together happily so nation focus on improving more one of the good example is China in 30 years of race this country looks like future of upcoming 15 years now which is proof if nation focus so every one can make profit.

In Conclusion, This essay discussed the main reasons related to the topic. Overall I believe that government should pay the costs of running universities I am totally agree with this its kind of future investment for nation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. You have provided relevant arguments, such as economic growth and social trust, to support your stance. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the example of Mark Zuckerberg is slightly tangential, and the reference to China is vague and lacks a direct link to the specific policy of free university tuition. To improve, ensure that your supporting examples are more closely tied to the core argument and provide more depth in your explanations to fully explore the implications of your position.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as the repetitive use of 'for example' or 'the mainly reason'. Transitions between sentences are sometimes abrupt, and the lack of punctuation (e.g., missing commas after introductory phrases) makes the flow feel disjointed. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your referencing (e.g., 'this', 'these') clearly points back to the intended ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'rapitation' (reputation), 'there children' (their children), and 'collage young boy' (college student). While your meaning is generally clear, these errors are frequent and occasionally distract the reader. To improve, focus on learning the correct spelling and usage of common academic collocations and avoid repeating basic words like 'good' and 'free'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are often marred by grammatical errors. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'government have'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'is have high education'), and missing articles. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and missing full stops. While the meaning is usually understandable, the frequency of these errors is high. To progress, work on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like subject-verb agreement and article usage.
