Student answer (Band 6.0)

In todays scientific era education has become a necessity for everyone to survive with the technological advancements. Few proportion of pupil think that University education should be funded by the governments for every beneficiary student. In my prospective I agree with their idea.

To articulate, I personally belief that every one have a right for higher education, but due to several reasons some people were not able to complete their University or even to start their study in these institutions.

First and the foremost reason is affordability, University studies involved theoretical as well as practical lessons to provide those to students in a proper way, institutions geniuenly need modern up-to-date equipment to demonstrate the lessons that significantly increases their fees due to which some of the parents are not able to cop with that budget. Many of the hardworking and deserving students have to quit their studies due to that countries are loosing their best brains for future researches.

Moreover, Universities have good connections with the multi national companies that helps students to get internships and get a good job.

This will help society to tackle with unemployment and with poverty. For instance, as we normally see in our society there are some students who get grants from government and complete their study then moves to good jobs that creates their future as well as their families future bright so we just have to think like that if only grants are helping that much than if government introduce some new policies to free the higher studies for those who are in need will give a great push to fight with several problems of our society. Not only this will help an individual to study, but also this will have a great impact on society

In conclusion, I feel the same way that Athourities should pay for the University education for those who needs it

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position in favor of government-funded university education. The ideas are relevant, focusing on affordability and the societal benefits of a skilled workforce. However, the development is somewhat inconsistent. While the point about financial barriers is clear, the argument regarding corporate connections is less directly linked to the core issue of government funding. The conclusion is a bit brief and could have better summarized the main arguments to provide a more robust final statement. Overall, the response covers all parts of the task, but the depth of analysis could be improved to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'First and the foremost', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical or repetitive. The referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'if only grants are helping that much than if government introduce some new policies', where the logical flow between the example and the conclusion is slightly disjointed. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be smoother.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their opinions clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'beneficiary' and 'articulate', though these are sometimes used with slight inaccuracies in collocation or context. Spelling errors are present, such as 'geniuenly' and 'Athourities', which are noticeable but do not significantly impede communication. To improve, the writer should focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensuring accurate spelling of key terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('every one have a right', 'universities... that helps') and article usage ('the governments', 'the countries'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some run-on sentences that lack necessary commas or conjunctions. While the meaning is generally clear, these frequent errors in basic grammar prevent the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and sentence boundaries would be highly beneficial.
