Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is reckoned by few that government should incur the expenses of university education to ensure that every student can enroll in colleges without thinking about fees. I am partially agree with this statement and this essay will elaborate my views with conclusion .
To commence with the first reason that why should government should pay the cost of running universities is support low income families. To explain it, there are some intelligent and talented students who can not afford to pay higher education fees and as a result he will suffer finacially throughout their lives. So government should spent support these student in order to have more skilled workers for example doctors, IT workers in country. It not only creates skilled individuals , but also reduces poverty . For instance , a poor guy got full scholarship and becomes a renowned dentist.
Despite this, If government authorities make university education education free for everyone it creates financial burden on them because they have other sectors also where government needs to spent money. Government should alocate fixed amount of their budget to education to poor students only as rich students can pay for their studies. As a result government have enough funds for other public services like medical , transportation. For example, In India government only provide scholarships to poor families and rich learners pay their full fees.
To summarize, although by providing free education creates more skilled workers, government should only spent on needy ones in order to balance its budget .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses the prompt by presenting a clear position (partial agreement) and providing arguments for both sides. The ideas are relevant, such as the economic benefits of a skilled workforce and the fiscal constraints on governments. However, the development is somewhat limited; the examples provided, such as the 'renowned dentist,' are a bit simplistic. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the implications of your arguments with more depth and nuance. The conclusion effectively summarizes your stance, but ensure that your main body paragraphs are more balanced in their development to fully support your position throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'To commence with,' 'Despite this,' and 'To summarize,' which help guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel repetitive. Additionally, there are minor issues with referencing; for example, in the second paragraph, you switch between singular ('he') and plural ('they') pronouns when referring to students, which can cause slight confusion. Improving the variety of your linking words and ensuring consistent pronoun usage will enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'financial burden,' 'allocate,' and 'skilled individuals.' However, there are several spelling errors ('finacially,' 'alocate,' 'spent' instead of 'spend') and some awkward phrasing, such as 'It is reckoned by few.' The vocabulary is generally functional but lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. To improve, focus on using more sophisticated collocations and ensure you proofread for basic spelling errors, which currently detract from the professional tone of your argument.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('government should spent,' 'government have enough funds') and article usage ('in country'). There are also some awkward sentence constructions, such as 'I am partially agree.' While you attempt complex sentences, these often contain errors that slightly impede the flow. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and refining your use of articles and prepositions. Increasing the variety of error-free complex structures will help you achieve a higher band score.
