Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this Era, Higher education is really beneficial to the younger generations. Some section of people believe that local government should be liable to sponsor fees to the students for higher studies at well recognized universities. In the upcoming paragraphs I will discuss why its is important.

Firstly, the government should be paying university fees for the students who are really in need because of their family incomes and other situations. For instance , some families can not afford huge cost of higher degrees , due to which they drop their studies and start working in low wage jobs to help their house to feed.

Secondly, the local bodies must offer scholarships or various kinds of reward for the needy students to help them with the further studies. Just Because of this small initiative , it will promote all students to study in their interested field without worrying about the cost associated with the courses. For example , mostly kids after their secondary education did not go in medical courses like GNM , MBBS and many more Because they can not afford . In this case , it would encourage youth to study and become successful in their fields.

Furthermore, Some just say everyone is responsible for their own studies and costs should be paid by their own. Few reasons are government has other areas where they had to fund such as defense system , national games , Research and invention. It takes around millions of Dollars just to fund and do a research only.

In Conclusion ,Government should pay or launch different reward giving activities to encourage the youth to study further . However, but we can not neglect that there are more important areas where funding is beneficial as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing the government's role in funding higher education. However, the position is somewhat inconsistent. While the introduction suggests a discussion on why it is important, the body paragraphs shift between supporting free education and acknowledging counter-arguments. The ideas are relevant but remain somewhat under-developed; for instance, the mention of 'GNM' and 'MBBS' is a good attempt at providing specific examples, but the explanation of the government's competing financial priorities in the third paragraph is brief and lacks depth. To reach a higher band, you should ensure your position is clearly stated and maintained throughout the essay, with more detailed exploration of the implications of your arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'Furthermore', and 'In Conclusion', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. There are instances where the flow is slightly disrupted, such as the abrupt transition in the final paragraph ('However, but we can not neglect...'), which is redundant and grammatically awkward. The referencing is generally clear, but the logical progression could be improved by ensuring that each paragraph builds more effectively on the previous one rather than simply listing points.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You use some relevant terms like 'higher education', 'scholarships', and 'financial priorities', but there is a reliance on simpler phrasing (e.g., 'help their house to feed', 'reward giving activities'). There are also some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'Some section of people' instead of 'Some people' or 'a section of the population'. To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and precise terminology related to economic and educational policy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'why its is important' (typo), 'mostly kids... did not go' (incorrect usage of 'mostly'), and 'Some just say everyone is responsible for their own studies and costs should be paid by their own' (awkward phrasing). Punctuation errors, such as unnecessary spaces before commas, are also present. Increasing the variety of complex structures while focusing on accuracy would significantly improve your score.
