Student answer (Band 5.0)

Eduction played a vitial role to shape our future. So It is believed that everyone should need to get higher level of education.but due to high fees of universties it is not everyones cup of tea to obtain knowledge from universties. Therefore, a certain part of the soscity assume that instituation of higher learning should be runing by the Administration .So that individuals get eduction without any cost . I am totally agree with this point of view and I am going to give my reason in the upcoming paragraph.

To begin with that, if institutsations of higher learning will be in runing under the authorities then it will be easy for common people to get higher eduation because nowadays higher education universties are under private secters and they are charging high fees due to that some genius students not able to study and a nation lost its bright future. To illustrate that, one of my colege who was a intelligent student and got first position in the medicial stream but he had to lift his study due to the bad economic condition of his home as he was not able to pay high fees of university.

furthermore,if higher eduction is under the authority then they can runing more succesfully as they dont need

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5

The response presents a clear position that the government should cover university costs, and ideas are introduced, such as the financial burden on students and the potential loss of brilliant minds. However, the task achievement is heavily constrained by the length requirement, as the response contains only 211 words, falling well short of the 250-word minimum. Furthermore, the text cuts off mid-sentence at the end ("furthermore,if higher eduction is under the authority then they can runing more succesfully as they dont need"), leaving the final argument completely undeveloped. Because the ideas are underdeveloped and the essay is significantly under-length, it does not fully satisfy the prompt requirements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay attempts to use basic cohesive devices such as "To begin with that," "To illustrate that,", and "furthermore," to signal the progression of ideas. However, paragraphing is problematic; the second paragraph is a massive, single block of text containing multiple distinct thoughts, and the final paragraph is incomplete. Referencing and logical progression are frequently disrupted by mechanical phrasing and awkward transitions. While there is a discernible structure—an introduction followed by body points—the lack of proper paragraphing and the abrupt ending pull the overall coherence down into the lower bands.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is quite basic and repetitive, featuring numerous spelling and word-choice errors that reflect a limited lexical range. Examples include "eduction" instead of education, "vitial" for vital, "universties" for universities, "soscity" for society, and "instituation" for institution. Phrasing such as "not everyones cup of tea" is overly informal for an IELTS task, and collocations are often awkward, such as "lift his study" instead of abandon or drop out of his studies. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey a general meaning, the high frequency of spelling mistakes and lexical limitations keep this at a Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The text displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple or awkwardly strung-together compound sentences joined by coordinating conjunctions. There are frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and capitalization, such as starting sentences with lowercase letters ("So It is believed", "but due to"). Complex structures are attempted—for example, conditional-style clauses ("if institutsations of higher learning will be in runing under the authorities")—but these are heavily flawed grammatically. Additionally, the frequent spelling errors across grammatical categories and the incomplete final sentence severely restrict the accurate control of language.
