IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Some people feel that the government should pay the costs of running universities so that a university education will be free for anyone who wants it.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
Give reasons for your answer, and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 4.0)
Now a days there is one discussion going on every where about free education in country .according to my point of view it has both advantages and disadvantages.
Suppose goverment should pay the cost of all university then it can create drastic impact educational level of country .
It give fair chances to every students to get higher education ,because sometime what happen due to large amount of fees most students who are coming from middle class family drop their studies.Apart from this if goverment give free education then it creates equality in students ,because students got addmition depand on merrite.
This way poor student got benifited to pursue higher education and form bright future.
I remembered former president of india dr APJ Abdul kalm was studied in goverment college and reach up to this lavel ,because he came from very poor family.
One disaddvantage is that if goverment provide totally free education then there is no value of it .rather then this they should take minimum fees .and give edmittionon the basis of the marrite of perticular students ,that leads fare chance for bright students
