Student answer (Band 5.0)
Education plays an important role for each and every one. As some people think that government should pay the costs of running university education, it will be free for all the community. I am partly agree with this statement, so in this essay I will discuss the reasons or provide the relevant examples from my experience.
To begin with, there are some reasons available; that's why the government should spend money on universities that everyone can enjoy the free education. The first reson for this that many low income families who cannot send their children to universities to get the better education. To illustrate it , as many people who can not meet their daily requirements fulfill related to grocery and house rents so how they can think to send their children to the universities but if the government pay the costs of running the universities then the low income people can easily send their children to the universities.
Moreover, There are also some reasons thats why government should not spent money on such things. The first reason for this the amount of moeny that government will use on medical services and other sectors that they will spend on these sectors and the people who can afford the money in education they will not contribute in the tax.
To conclude, as the low income families easily send their children to universities for education but the people who can afford these expenses they will not able to contribute in this sector.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response attempts to address both sides of the issue, stating a partial agreement with the statement. However, the ideas are underdeveloped and lack sufficient supporting evidence. The length requirement is unfortunately not met, falling just one word short at 249 words, which results in a penalty under Task Achievement. While the introduction outlines a balanced view, the body paragraphs fail to fully elaborate on the consequences of free university education. The points regarding low-income families and government budget allocation are introduced but not properly extended or supported with clear, robust examples. Consequently, the response sits at Band 5.0 as it addresses the task only partially with limited and under-developed ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays some organizational structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the logical progression is hindered by repetitive phrasing and abrupt transitions. Cohesive devices are sometimes inaccurate or clumsy, such as 'The first reson for this that...' and 'There are also some reasons thats why...'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the final conclusion is extremely brief and fails to effectively summarize the arguments presented. Referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the exact line of reasoning. These features align with the descriptors for Band 5.0, where organisation is present, but overall progression is weak and cohesive devices are inadequate or repetitive.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is generally basic and repetitive, such as 'important role', 'free education', and 'send their children'. There are noticeable spelling and word choice errors, including 'reson' instead of reason, 'moeny' instead of money, and the awkward phrasing 'fulfill related to grocery and house rents'. While the student attempts some less common phrasing, the limited range and frequent errors in collocation and spelling restrict the score to Band 5.0. The letexical choices are minimally adequate for conveying a simple message, but noticeable errors cause occasional difficulty for the reader and prevent achievement of a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty. Examples include 'I am partly agree with this statement' (incorrect verb form) and run-on sentences like 'To illustrate it , as many people who can not meet their daily requirements fulfill related to grocery and house rents so how they can think to send their children to the universities'. Punctuation and grammatical errors are frequent throughout the text, notably missing articles and incorrect prepositions. Despite these issues, meaning is usually retrievable, which fits the Band 5.0 profile for grammatical range and accuracy where frequent errors persist and complex structures are often inaccurate.
