Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is no denying that education is essential for personal and professional developements. As some people believe that goverment should provide the education to all without any cost. I agree with this opinion at some extent as I believe that education should be affordable and free for those who really need it. In this upcoming paragraph, I will discuss both side view points.
Starting with the benefits of free education, everyone can access higher education without any finanace difficulties as some poorn families cannot afford hight costs of special courses like engineering and medical education. With this initiative, middle class family's children can also become a doctor or an engineer. It will not only fulfill their dream but also have more benefits for the society for having more high skills individual.
On the contrary, providing free education can increase the burden on high authorities to pay the costs which can lead to place more tax on taxpayers. In addition, government also needs money for public facilities like hospitals and roads that are also essential for the dwellers. Wealthy families may be able to pay their own tuition fee. However, making university education entirely free for everyone can place unnecessary burden on the government and taxpayers as well.
Taking everything into consideration, I would say the university education should be affordable for everyone instead and entirely free for those who are in lower income bracket.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is identifiable: you support affordable university education and targeted free provision for people on lower incomes, while recognising the cost to government. You address both the benefits and drawbacks, using relevant examples such as poorer families’ access to medical or engineering courses and competing public needs like hospitals and roads. However, the benefits are more developed than the proposed funding approach, and the conclusion introduces targeted free education without explaining how eligibility or support would work. The response also contains 234 words, so it does not meet the 250-word minimum. Develop the central argument with a specific explanation of how government support could be balanced against public costs, and extend your examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on benefits, a contrasting paragraph on costs, and a conclusion. The progression from access to financial pressure is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the contrary” and “Taking everything into consideration” help readers recognise the stages of the argument. This meets the lower-band expectations securely, with some evidence of more controlled organisation. To make the flow more natural and flexible, avoid formulaic framing such as “In this upcoming paragraph” and connect claims more explicitly—for example, explain how targeted support follows from the contrast between poorer and wealthy families. The phrase “both side view points” is also unclear and does not accurately describe the essay’s position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “higher education,” “tuition fee,” “taxpayers,” and “public facilities,” which makes the main ideas understandable. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “lower income bracket” and “financial difficulties.” However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, including “developements,” “goverment,” “poorn families,” and “high skills individual.” Some combinations are unnatural, such as “place more tax on taxpayers” and “for having more high skills individual,” which reduce precision. Build accuracy by checking spelling and word forms, and learn common collocations for education funding, such as “raise taxes,” “skilled professionals,” and “tuition costs.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional result in “Wealthy families may be able to pay their own tuition fee. However…” and a relative clause in “facilities like hospitals and roads that are also essential.” Most of the argument remains understandable, but some sentence structures are incomplete or awkward. For example, “As some people believe that government should provide…” is a dependent clause presented as a sentence, while “I agree with this opinion at some extent” has an inaccurate grammatical pattern. There are also issues with articles, plurals, and agreement, as in “a doctor or an engineer” alongside “more high skills individual.” Practise complete sentence construction and review agreement and article use while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
