Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this contemporary era , having a qualification from colleges and universities are essential because it assist to acheive standard jobs . This can help to build better career future for people and their next generations . Howeverr , some believe that authorties should pay the costs for the running institutes that assist to provide free education for every pupils who need . I partialy agree with this notion because , many students can still afford higher education and there are other sectors which need to pay attention by government rather then these universities .
On one hand , providing a costfree education can help those who are unable to pay their fees and extra expenes on study mateirals.therefore , free learning provide an oppertunties to that needy students and help them to pursue their degrre or diploma without having financial issue . For instance , low income and middle class families from rural area and slum area can studies from that charitable institutes . Moreover, zero cost education is golden chance for those students who are brillient in their academic area but belongs to underprivileged sections. As a result , this can provide equall opportunities for everyone to sit in a educational centre. Meanwhile , this can lead to make them capable to set their career at any place .
On the other hand , education should not be free by government because there are other sectors which are also important to keep on focus . For instance , hospitals ,public transports, and communities services which are significantly important to maintaine for public. However , authorties need to concern about these sectors and these are manage with the help of funds and government money . In addition , authorties should provide assistance to those needy students who are unable to pay their fees . Although , many students still pay their fees themselves because they are belong to wealthy families.
In conclusion ,free education should be provided to those who are unable to pay their fees and are talented and intelligent in academic sections. Because it provides them great chance to build their career after pursuing education . Nevertheless ,many scholars are belongs to wealthy families and pay their fees. Although governments need to highlights the other sectors too.I personally believe it should not be fully free and provide some assitance to those students who really need and unable to pay their costs of education.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is identifiable: you partly disagree with fully government-funded university education and favour support for students who cannot afford fees. You address both sides, explaining that free study could widen access for disadvantaged students, while public money is also needed for hospitals and transport. These points are relevant, and the examples of rural and low-income families help illustrate your view. However, the discussion of who should receive support is not fully consistent: you refer to both students who are needy and those who are academically talented, without explaining whether both conditions should apply. The argument about other public services is also asserted rather than developed. Clarifying your funding proposal and extending the reasons behind it would make the response more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs and a conclusion. The progression from the benefits of free education to competing government priorities is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On one hand” and “On the other hand” help show the contrast. This gives the essay a coherent foundation. At times, however, linking is mechanical or the relationship between ideas is unclear. For example, “Although, many students still pay their fees themselves” does not connect smoothly to the preceding point, and the conclusion repeats several ideas without bringing them together into a precise final position. Some sentences also contain several linked claims, making the progression harder to track. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make each paragraph’s reasoning build step by step.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to education and public spending, including “underprivileged sections,” “financial issue,” “public transports” and “government money.” There are also attempts to express more specific ideas, such as “zero cost education” and “equal opportunities.” However, the range and control are limited by frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word choice or collocation. Examples include “acheive,” “expenes,” “mateirals,” “brillient,” and “authorties”; these errors are noticeable and sometimes slow the reader. Phrases such as “set their career at any place” and “keep on focus” are also not natural in this context. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common word partnerships, especially for discussing access, funding and career prospects.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “who” and “although.” This allows you to explain causes and contrast different groups, as in “because there are other sectors which are also important.” However, control is inconsistent: errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence boundaries occur throughout and can make some sentences difficult to process. For example, “having a qualification … are essential” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “many students are belong to wealthy families” uses an incorrect verb pattern. “This can help to build better career future” also needs more accurate article and number choices. Practise checking the main verb in each clause, and separate complete sentences with appropriate punctuation.
