Student answer (Band 5.5)
Education is an important pillar of development for any society. Any Country wants to have a long term development will invest in education and see the effects of their investment in a future.
Firstly, Education should be birthright fo any citizen of the country. By investing in education, the country can invest in their future and childrens. Today's children are future of any nation and they are going to be the citizen of the nation. Investing in education will give huge potential opportunity to the people who are working in the University in various departments.
Secondly, once the education becomes free, the student doesn't have to work part-time to save for their education fees and can focus on their studies full time. Many of the courses studied by the University students will allow them to work in the sectors which requires special skills e.g. Carpenting, construction, engineering etc. Many computer couses pursues by the students will build their country's tech environment in the way of growth and suceess.
In addition to that, once student does not need to worry about thier fees, they can give hundred percent of their efforts toward learning and developing their skillset to thefullest of their capacity. By learning and getting education in the sectors which require specialized skills and knowledge students can easily opt for those subjects without worrying aboutof the cost of the education. It should be legal responsibilities of the government to pay for the costs of running universities as education not only should be free it is also should be birthright of every citizen of the country.
I fuuly agree with the opinion that government should pay the costs of running universities so that a university education will be free for anyone who wants it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you fully agree that government should fund universities, and you give relevant reasons, including allowing students to concentrate on study and helping develop a skilled workforce. However, the response addresses the issue only partially because the reasons are mostly asserted rather than explained with specific examples or evidence. For instance, the claim that free education will strengthen the country’s “tech environment” is not developed, and the point about university employment is not clearly connected to the main argument. To strengthen the response, explain how public funding could make access fairer or benefit society, and support each main reason with a concrete example. The conclusion repeats your position but does not add a final implication.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two main body paragraphs, an additional supporting paragraph, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In addition to that” help signal the order of points. However, progression is limited because several ideas repeat the same claim that education should be free and students should not worry about fees. Some links between sentences are also unclear: the point about creating opportunities for university employees does not flow naturally from the discussion of children and national development. Organise the essay around distinct reasons, use clearer links between each claim and its explanation, and avoid repeating the same point in the final body paragraph and conclusion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “birthright,” “special skills,” “specialized skills and knowledge,” and “skillset,” which helps communicate the subject. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “long term development.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. Examples include “huge potential opportunity,” “future of any nation,” and “give hundred percent of their efforts.” Spelling errors such as “couses,” “suceess,” and “fuuly” are noticeable. Aim for more precise academic expressions and check spelling carefully; vary repeated references to education and development.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses beginning with “once” and “which,” but control is inconsistent. Errors occur frequently in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and verb forms, and some make the reader pause. For example, “Any Country wants to have a long term development will invest” lacks a grammatical link between the clauses, while “the sectors which requires” has subject–verb disagreement. Other examples include “children are future” and “It should be legal responsibilities,” where articles and agreement are missing or incorrect. Practise building accurate complex sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check articles, plurals, and agreement during revision. More reliable sentence control would make your ideas easier to follow.
