Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent times, it has become a debatable issue that university education should be free and the whole expanses should by covered by the authority. I largely agree with this notion at some extent, and this essay will support my views along with relavant examples.

The primary reason for making education free at university level is country's economic growth. Mostly, learners start working for earning because of their family circumstances and leave their education. This is because, poor families cannot afford expanses of higher studies of their youngone's. If the education will be provided in free of cost, then each and every family can easily enroll their children for completing their post secondary education. Therefore, higher education helps students' to get a better job which leads to improve children's and a country's growth economically,

Another significant benefit of free learning in colleges is equality, similar education can reduce inequality among the yougsters. This trend ultimately create peace which is necessary for a nation's overall growth. However, educatee will not take their education seriously if they can get it without paying anything. So, college fee can be lessen for graduatee rather than completely free.

In conclusion, although free college study is advantageous for reducing poverity, for country's better growth money is really important. I agree with the satement, however rather completely free education, fee can be minimize for poor students so that they understand the real value of education and nation can develop without unnessary burden. That is why, I am

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear general position in favour of government-funded university education, and you offer relevant reasons: improved economic prospects and greater equality. The qualification that fees could be reduced for poorer students rather than removed entirely also shows an attempt to consider the issue. However, the position is not fully consistent: the opening says you agree “at some extent,” while the conclusion shifts to targeted fee reductions, without clearly explaining how this answers the proposal that education be free for anyone who wants it. The reasons are asserted more than developed, and the example of students leaving education because of family circumstances remains general. The response is also one word below the required minimum. Explain your degree of agreement precisely and develop each reason with a specific example or consequence.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The paragraphs each focus on a relevant point, and connectors such as “Therefore,” “However” and “In conclusion” help signal relationships between ideas. This gives the essay an overall coherent arrangement. At times, though, the progression is weakened by abrupt or unclear links: the contrast beginning “However” introduces a concern about students’ motivation but does not explain how it relates to the preceding point about equality. The conclusion also repeats the position without resolving the tension between free education and reduced fees. Build clearer links between claims and explanations, and use pronouns and references so readers can readily identify who or what is being discussed.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “economic growth,” “inequality,” “higher education” and “overall growth,” and you attempt more formal expressions such as “significant benefit.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices, collocations and spelling errors make parts of the response difficult to read. Examples include “whole expanses,” “free of cost,” “youngone’s,” “educatee” and “poverity.” Some phrases also sound unnatural, such as “reduce inequality among the youngsters.” These issues fit a response with minimally adequate vocabulary but noticeable errors. Aim to learn common academic collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully; more precise choices will make your arguments clearer without requiring unnecessarily complex vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional and cause-and-effect structures, as in “If the education will be provided…” and “which leads to improve…”. However, complex constructions are often faulty, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence boundaries occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “This trend ultimately create peace” needs subject–verb agreement, while “higher education helps students’ to get” has an incorrect possessive form and infinitive construction. The final sentence is incomplete: “That is why, I am”. These patterns show that you are trying to vary sentence structure, but control is not yet consistent. Practise accurate conditional forms and check each sentence for a complete clause, correct verb agreement and punctuation.
