Student answer (Band 6.0)

There are majority of people who consider that kids gain good ability while they are joined with similar academic abilities of pupils . However , on the other side masses think that children learn better when they see other children to demonstrating a diverse range of academic skills. In the upcoming paragraph I will discuss both the views along with my own thoughts.

To commence with, when students placed with same level of knowledge of classmates then they can learn better and feel more confident and comfortable. For instance, I saw survey of Delhi public school the children who were sitting with same level of class they were more confident in every skills because their was no one to judge and troll ,no competition only focus on learning. So that’s why i think this is the best way to learn better .

Furthermore, the other people think when their kids will joined the classes of those students who illustrating a different way of abilities then they can make more active and intelligent. For example, survey of USA school the learners who joined diverse range of activities they had more practical experience and skills and their future will more secure .

Moreover, according to my point of view , the kids who joined the same level of education they can make more better in academic . While students placed with same level of students they have no one to do demotivate no competition only focus on the study no stress students can go every day in schools without any hesitation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments rely on vague references to 'surveys' rather than logical reasoning or detailed examples. The conclusion repeats points made earlier without adding depth or synthesis. To reach a higher band, you should focus on explaining the 'why' behind your arguments—for example, explaining how diverse classrooms foster empathy or how ability grouping allows for targeted instruction. The position is clear, but the supporting points lack the depth required for a higher score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes repetitive (e.g., 'For instance', 'Furthermore', 'Moreover'). There are issues with sentence-level cohesion, such as the awkward phrasing 'when students placed with same level'. The progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, and the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs feels abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows logically from the previous one will significantly improve the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There is frequent reliance on basic phrasing, such as 'gain good ability' or 'make more better'. Some word choices are unnatural or incorrect, such as 'troll' in an academic context or 'masses' to refer to people with a different opinion. There is also some repetition of vocabulary, particularly the word 'level'. To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and synonyms to express your ideas with greater sophistication and accuracy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include missing articles ('saw survey of Delhi public school'), incorrect verb forms ('when their kids will joined'), and subject-verb agreement errors ('There are majority of people'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with spaces missing before commas and periods. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors will be beneficial.
